The iridescence of this Selaginella is hard to capture. Inside of a shady location such as a vivarium, it will light up impressively blue. The brighter the area (such as outdoors on a sunny day) the more diminished the blues.

This isn't the big box store peacock fern, Selaginella uncinata, but a rarer form. Does very well inside my vivarium, or on a patio if you happen to live somewhere more tropical/subtropical.

You'll receive a similar cutting from the primary stem. If you've heard about difficulty propagating, it is because it wasn't done with the proper segment. You need an active rhizophore, which you will receive. Rooting is then simple: place on damp sphagnum/surface in a humid, sealed environment and wait.
