You are Purchasing, Vintage Large Wooden Japanese Kokeshi Doll Signed, Traditional Hand Crafted Japanese Art Doll 1950s Hand Painted Doll Retro.

This is a large Kokeshi wooden doll with lovely red floral detail. The artist is Kakizawa Koretaka a famous craftsman of traditional Kokeshi from the small village Miyagi, Japan. In good vintage condition expected wear to the paint and age to the wood. These dolls are becoming extremely collectable so grab it while you can !

Kokeshi are Japanese dolls, originally from northern Japan. They are handmade from wood, have a simple trunk and an enlarged head with a few thin, painted lines to define the face. The body has a floral design painted in red, black, and sometimes yellow, and covered with a layer of wax. One characteristic of kokeshi dolls is their lack of arms or legs. The bottom is typically marked with the signature of the artist.

Measures 30 cm tall 7.5 cm base diameter .

All my items are vintage and sold in the as found condition. Most are in used condition unless otherwise stated. I do my up most to ensure any flaws chips damage are visible in the photos. You can always contact me if you require any further information or additional photos.
