Siddharth Anand’s aerial action drama film Fighter has hit theatres and has clearly taken things to the top-notch. While actors Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone as Indian Air Force officers have impressed audiences with their chemistry and performance, the supporting cast of Karan Singh Grover and Akshay Grover also played prominent roles in the film. That being said, Akshay Oberoi, who has also received positive filed reviews for his role as Squadron Leader Basheer Khan in a recent interview opened up about the response and also about his relationship with actor-cousin Vivek Oberoi.

Akshay Oberoi denies getting help from Vivek Oberoi

In a recent conversation with Dainik Bhaskar, Akshay Oberoi began by expressing his respect for Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi and his father Suresh Oberoi, further noting the coincidence of working with his cousin in Inside Edge.

Reflecting back on his career, Akshay mused that his career would have skyrocketed if he had received help from Vivek. Stating that he would have been happy to get help from the Indian Police Force actor, Akshay said that he never asked for work nor did Vivek offer him any.

Further, he concluded the response by stating that he has learned to balance success and failure after having seen failures a lot. Notably, this is not the first time that Akshay has spoken about his relationship with his cousin. Earlier in another interview, Akshay mentioned having no access to his family’s achievements further remembering that he was asked to “do his own things.”

Akshay Oberoi praises Fighter director

The actor in another interview was also seen heaping praise on his Fighter director calling him the ‘Steven Spielberg of India’. Talking to India Today, Akshay noted that the film faced several potential pitfalls but it was director Siddharth Anand who orchestrated everything seamlessly.

Directed by Siddharth Anand, Fighter features Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, and Anil Kapoor in the lead roles followed by Karan Singh Grover, Akshay Oberoi, and Sanjeeda Sheikh in supporting roles. Released on 25 January 2024, the film has so far done good business at the box office.
