Dinner And A Show With A View Of The Bellagio Fountains

This article is more than 4 years old.

The month of March has ended much differently than it started. The United States, along with nations across the globe, are struggling with the effects and containment of COVID-19. Thousands are hospitalized and the rest of the international population is working to maintain social distance. A weekend in Vegas feels as far away as anything else these days, but there was a time, only a few weeks ago where guests were enjoying themselves in this famous patch of desert in the Western United States. And in a few weeks, they will hopefully be there once again. For those of us for whom travel has always been an escape, here is a virtual tour through the newest spot to grab dinner and a show with a view of the Bellagio Fountains.

The Fountains of Bellagio are one of the most iconic sights in all of Vegas.  And there are lots of places where you can dine with a view of their shows, which are all the more exciting at night. However, there are only a few places where you can dine directly on the water’s edge. This past New Year’s Eve, a new dining concept opened at the Bellagio—the Mayfair Supper Club. Centrally located overlooking the fountains at the water’s edge, the Mayfair harkens back to the heyday of the supper club, while at the same time bringing the concept into this new decade.

The Mayfair Supper Club offers live entertainment nightly.  Each night guests can experience it’s prohibition-era jazz and it’s tasteful cabaret performances. Open until 3am on the weekends, this is the type of place you’ll want to spend all night. Whether you are a couple looking for a fun date night, or a big group looking to celebrate, the Mayfair Supper Club will entertain you and your friends all night long. And after the current crisis ends, this is the type of night we will all need to shake the cobwebs off!

The menu features lots of luxurious dishes worthy of a special night out. Begin with their Wagyu and Caviar Hand Roll and a Mayfair Roll for a fresh start to the night. And pair those first bites with one of their jazz-era classic cocktails.

As the music continues and the entertainment gets even more wild, your main course will arrive. While the entire menu is filled with things worthy of a celebration, their tableside prime rib service is something Frank Sinatra would approve of—the juicy, tender prime rib is expertly carved right in front of your eyes and its depth of flavor speaks to its perfect preparation. The tableside service adds to the vintage ambiance and the sense of occasion.

Perhaps before the dessert course, you may want to stretch your legs, so take a step outside to view the fountain show, which runs every 15 minutes from 7pm to midnight.

And finally, once you get to dessert you may think they have run out of tricks up their sleeve, but not a chance! With chocolates arriving in an oversized music box, ballerina and all, to a sundae served in a birdcage, the theatrics are not without substance. Every dish is flawlessly executed and filled with creativity—so why not have a little fun as well?

As we all do our part to help ‘flatten the curve’ by staying home to maintain social distance, hopefully this virtual tour of a place quite literally from another time has managed to lift some spirits.
