This is summer refreshment in a perfume bottle. Opens with a lovely cocktail of watery citrus mixed with something that smells green or of vegetables. Dries down to your typical nice clean woody scent.

Took it for a run in the heat + humidity and it worked like a charm. The mintiness in the middle gives a cooling vibe to go with the freshness of the fragrance making this (in my opinion) a one-season pony.

Activated by heat and will keep you smelling clean and fresh. Moderate longevity and sillage but this sort of fragrance is not designed to be a beastly performer. Carry it with you and spray as required. It will make the heat of the summer more tolerable.

Smells like a slightly more masculine Vintage Green 78 from Banana Republic minus the fig and a couple notches more watery. Definitely leans green overall and is more floral than I expected but it’s extremely high quality perfumery for great value. Could easily be worn by ladies as well. It’s all about white florals, green leaves and citrus with a faint touch , I mean faint touch of wood. I get no green pepper. Makes me think of a white flower growing from a lllly pad in a crystal clear pond. They don’t make them like this anymore now blue is the post 2000 fresh. Performance is not great but is all u could hope for with this type scent. It needs heat so outside warm events and daytime sun is when you could wear this only. Surprised this wasn’t a bigger deal 25 years ago.

Reminds me exactly of how 7-Up and Sprite smells at the opening of the bottle. Fresh and clean!

Mmm it has changed a lot, just bergamot, no yuzu, no green pepper, not sharper, not brighter, not greenish as before, meh at best, stripped to basic bergamot or lemmon

Mr.Grim

It's been rebranded now just to Kenzo L'Eau Pour Homme for more than 10 years for now I guess.
Yuzu and Lotus makes it signature and I will never forget this one. Smelling my 2008 batch and it's a pure happiness. I'd say it was made so much in a Japanese way. It's transparent and misty, simple and complicated at the same time as well as L'Eau D'Issey by Issey Miyake - the definition of Japanese soul for me. A watercolored painting of Fuji in the summer

WGG

Like Versace Man Eau Fraiche, but a soupcon more citrus fruit and less musk. I like this more, the fruit is mouthwatering. Performance is fleeting, which impacts my rating, but this is a treat on hot, humid days. If you've more cash, MFK's Petit Matin is a glorious expression of these notes.

One of the best freshies out there!

For something fresh and enjoyable to smell all day long, I found that this scent is a crowd pleaser and I never tire of it.

bergamotti

A fresh aquatic scent. Got it first time when I was like 13 or something. It’s crazy how it turned out to be one of my all time favourites.

clownboi1792

My bottle has a slightly different name and bottle, similar to what Korleis mentioned, but the scent seems the same as mentioned here.

I'm not sure which one, but this reminds me of a scent I smelled nearly 15 years ago. When I was in high school my friends and I would go to the mall and take any of the samplers they would let us take.

One of the them smelled incredibly similar to this. The scent is incredibly nostalgic. Also, my girlfriend loves it. She actually bought me the bottle.

I like it, but the performance seems mediocre at best.

isakasyv

I’ve come to realize I have yet to find a Kenzo fragrance I dislike, I own Kenzo Homme EDT Intense, Kenzo Homme EDP Fresh and now L’eau. And what a stunner this is!

I think I have to give in and say that Kenzo is my favorite designer house.

AMajeedQT

@Airitout yes, I believe it's discontinued. Can't find it anywhere in the Middle East for years now. Or maybe became region exclusive to Japan.

smellylizard

Of my 10 kenzo bottles this is my fav. Very safe, fresh, clean. Clear citrus but not overwhelming at all. More of a a sweet fresh citrus. Reminds me of walking around Italian wine and lemon farms on the seaside, or the perfect Gin Tonic. The freshness is accompinied well with some herbal notes, not sure what, but it's nice. The main accords in the discription is spot on.

Very summery. Unisex, sharp, but warm.

Airitout

Discontinued? Seems harder to find than it was 10 years ago or so. Still have an old bottle I spray in the shower before I hop in. Magnificent

Steve907

Trying it now for first time. Got blasted with lemon on the opening. Lemon was all I smelled for the first few minutes. As it's heading towards dry down the musk is coming out. The green pepper, green notes, aquatic notes and lotus really give this fragrance a lot of character in a fresh package. It's like Versace's Man Eau Fraiche but slightly dirty, but not bitter like L'eau D'Issey. I don't know how I feel about this one, I like it, and it's very interesting to me, but I'm not sure if i love it. To people questioning the performance, I don't want to sound like a jerk, but maybe you should look more into that problem, I don't think it's an issue with the fragrance.

Edit: I loved it enough to buy a full bottle. There's a luxury Paul Smith lemon & sage hand lotion that you can get at some hotels. This smells reminiscent of that. The citrus can get slightly sour after 4 hours of wearing, but it fades around 6 to 7 hours into a skin scent, so not much need to worry.

I feel like this would be a perfect air-conditioned office where you're trying to keep your frag game toned down. In that setting this would be on point.

woyopol

Back in 1999, when I discovered this fragrance, I was taken aback by its incredible freshness. It was this summery scent that stood out so much from the whole range of other boring Eau de toillettes. I still love it and have it. Interestingly, Sankai by Bi-Es is 99% similar with good projection.

endlic

非常喜歡,夏天使用帶有活力又非常清爽的味道

SkyZippr

To me there's nothing citrus-y, definitely didn't detect any yuzu there, and it's overwhelmingly sweet and creamy.

Yohan Hail

its fruity four seasons melon ice pop scent, i can wear this all day but need to spray every now and then because the Projection IS NOT that strong

Abdulrehman Maqsood

Got a tester, smelling this as I write:
The opening: Extremely zesty and sharp and sweet. Smells like a good quality citrus air freshener. The Yuzu is quite apparent.
After 10 minutes: Smells more floral and creamy than I'd personally like, slightly dizzying for my senses. There is a tiny note of fresh herbs in here as well that I like.

Mellow down: Smells like as if a lemon flavored lollipop was crushed into a powder, and it was mixed with very minuscule amounts of green herbs and flecks of wood.
Very sweet. Its quite pleasant and safe smelling, reminds me of going to the beach and having a ice cold mint lemonade with the sea breeze under the hot sun.

skoenig4

One of my all-time favorites. I got this when I was starting my collection, as I wanted something summery and fresh, but I also did not want to break the bank. I purchased this on a whim, and when I first smelled it, I was absolutely blown away. It felt like a mist of Sprite on a hot summer day. The yuzu is perfection for the price- refreshing and cool in the best way possible. Even the drydown works great for me, albeit subtle. I cannot recommend this fragrance enough to anyone who wants to start a relatively inexpensive fragrance collection, but still wants to smell unique and fresh. My only complaint is that the longevity leaves a bit to be desired, but that only means I get to overspray. And a 100ml bottle for only $30 I don't mind overspraying. 100/10, blind buy worthy without question. Do yourself and add this to your collection, especially if you are just starting to get into fragrances.

Question:
L’Eau Par pour homme, with text sideways up downwards
and L’eau pour homme (without “par”) with centred bigger text;

Same fragrance with updated bottle?

Wesley Lee

I have a decant for this since long ago. This smells very smooth and musky, the opening is soury citrus, a bit like Sprite, maybe the green pepper makes it a bit unpleasant for me and then smooth musky citirus for the drydown.

Fabricio

I love this fragrance smell. Absolutely clean and fresh, very tonic and invigorating, BUT, it lasts half an hour and projects so lightly... I guess some Ambroxan should be added to the formula to make it stand out longer.

House Adams

A really solid Citrus / Aquatic Aromatic with some slight floral and green undertones... Better then I would have thought, although I admit I don't have much experience with the House of Kenzo... A lot of options in this genre - For the price, this is a decent choice.

Yuzu is always nice when done well... With the green accords, this does provide a citrus / aquatic freshie with a little bit of uniqueness - But again, many fragrances fit the mold.

I like it..

spartaksci

I've only got into Kenzo a couple of months ago and i regret dismissing this house for so long. Kenzo freshies and the whole style of fragrances this house puts out is just different, there's always a twist with their scents and this one is no different. The opening guaranteed will make you think it's just another generic aquatic/modern scent. I sure did. But trust me, let it develop. For the price tag on this, it's really a interesting take on citrus scent and the combo of notes here really transform this into a different kind of summer scent. Every frag Kenzo puts out it's different between each other (apart from flankers of the same line). If you like citrusy, breezy scents for the summer, this one will definetly please you!

washudtoj

I normally don't blind buy perfumes anymore, but I did with l'Eau Kenzo because
A) I couldn't find a sample in my country. Kenzo is criminally unpopular in where I live.
B) One of the reviews below mentioned this smelt like 'first day on earth.' Figured if it were that good, nothing could go wrong with it, right?
C) The notes are mostly what I gravitate to.

Well, I finally got my hands on this one, and... it smells like one of my dishwashing liquids (lemon scented, of course). When it dries down, my skin smells like still-wet dishes after the wash. Certainly not what I'd imagine the scent of first day on earth would be.

Compared to l'Eau d'Issey pour Homme, Issey wins hands down. They are like distant relatives - more distant than cousins I reckon. Maybe third cousin twice removed or something. I much prefer l'Eau d'Issey, though I am glad to have tried l'Eau Kenzo.

Pros: awesome bottle design. Beautiful juice colour that I can look at all day. Unique & unisex. Not salty. Very fresh.
Cons: dishwashing liquid scent. Doesn't last.

ice8erg

It's like for me personally (who loves aquatic fragrance such as dg lightblue intense, l'eau d'issey, cool water etc) the score is :

Scent : 9/10
Sillage : 3/10
Longevity : 2/10

Too bad after just 1 or 2 hour max even with generous application it just becomes a very close skin scent. Zesty zen aura that calms your mind. I would say this a more feminine (hence gender neutral) version of l'eau d'issey. Perfect for casual weekend outing. Or daily inoffensive working fragrance. Although once again, it's gonna vanish to almost nothing by lunch time.

This is the weakest fragrance i've ever had to be honest. Such a shame because it does smell good. Bottomline I dont think it's worth the price, unless you can find it for at least 30-50% of RRP then you can grab it esp if you already know how it smells like. 100% avoid blindbuy

MKD

Beautiful smell but the lasting power is only 5 minutes.
Update: On a cold december day, 8 hours after the application of L'eau par Kenzo I detected the smell on me, so definitely this is one of the perfumes that make olfactory fatigue. On spring and summer days this will work like magic, I hope.

Beulo

Smells amazing. With citrusy opening, mostly yuzu, followed by fresh, watery scent. But the performance is really bad. It lasts no more than 2 hours and doesn't project well even in hot weather. It could be because of reformulation though, since I got the newer bottle.

Airitout

Top 5 cologne. The best “light” cologne for spring and summer while still smelling manly. It warms up on me a little bit after it’s been on me for an hour or two. For the price it’s a great buy. Very fresh scent that doesn’t smell soapy or synthetic.

Robinfv

Quite nice! An aqua summery and soothing scent in the likes of Cool Water. Not as strong, both projection and sillage are medium at the most, but it’s nice for warmer days. Absolutely office safe. Great bottle also. A great buy, will buy a flanker next summer.

Spearo

This is just beautiful, serene and soothing! If Im in a serius meeting or with the most sensitive people this is my first choice to avoid being annoying or loud. REALLY wish the performance was better.

Abry_81

L'eau par Kenzo is a clean, neat aquatic fragrance that envelops us in a sensation like just coming out of the shower.
I know very well that these fragrances are very prone to underperforming so I generally have few of them despite the fact that the climate in my country is very hot.
When we apply L'eau par Kenzo the first thing we notice are those fresh aquatic notes in which we gradually perceive the citrus notes of yuzu and lemon, these citrus notes are not dominant here or very strident (as in l'eau de issey) are tied to the aquatic notes in such a way that they do not stand out one above the other but give us the feeling of freshness, serenity and lightness. The lotus flower (flower that I love in aquatic compositions) gives it after minutes a slight floral and translucent touch that can be used perfectly by both sexes without problems, this composition also has green notes, which together with the Musk and green pepper give a certain combination of acidity and sweetness, both very light and round off this composition, giving it the sensation of being in front of a pond in a Japanese landscape that generates a zen state.
Its weak point as I said at the beginning is its performance so we must reapply often if we want it to become more present and although the old batches work slightly better the performance is not very good in general, also I have noticed that the more recent ones tend to smell a little more soapy.

Nik the Greek

Divine smell!! One of the best ever! Does not last more than an hour.

SanjayHuang

Ultimate cheapy for super refreshing scent!
Opening is clearly a blast of Yuzu. After the opening, I definitely got a lemon tea vibe with some green notes.
Got a 2019 tester bottle for about 18$ from discounter in Japan. My absolute best buy for this summer.

Luxfare

Very citrus aquatic scent which dries down to a powered musk. I blind bought it and went though a bottle within a year. It’s a good scent at a good price.

Edit: opening is great and decent projection, after 30 minutes it's a skin scent

washudtoj

Thanks so much @gouzilla!

gouzilla

@washudtoj

Like d'Issey, but softer, sweeter.

Like a distant cousin. Wonderful in a world of weird sour-ish man scents.

I too hate green tea and I love, love, love this fragrance. Let me know if it works for you!

washudtoj

Just wondering...

Is this one similar to Elizabeth Arden Green Tea? I like citruses in general but I hate that one in particular.

Also, does it smell 'oriental' or middle-eastern?

If this one is more in the vibes of CK One and l'Eau d'Issey pour Homme, then I can have more confidence in blind buying it...

ElCaupo

I have the recent formulation, start with sort of sprite vibe fortunately disappears quickly, then you will find smelling one of the few frags in the market with a fresh and clear water sense composition it's like visiting a Japanese garden, don't expect sea salt marine vibes thing here, the yuzu it's not loud here and it's a good thing unlike the L'eau d'issey wich for me recent formulation seems like a yuzunade without soul.

gxbjw

9 years ago I purchased this bottle as a 16 y/o who just wanted something that smells fresh and good. I barely wore it -- as I wasn't big on scents, and I never had odor problems -- but when I dressed a bit smart, I pulled this one off. However, I remember one of the reasons I didn't like to wear this scent was because of the performance.

Last year as a 25 y/o, I began my excessive collecting hobby which only lasted for merely 8 months. One day I realised a had a bottle of this in my drawer, or rather somewhere in the boxes as I moved around pretty frequently. When I sprayed it for the first time in many years, the freshness brought back plethora of memories.

It's easy to get sentimental on this scent since it's very youthful and very fitting to the times that I wore it, but whatever good that it brought turned into disappointment because the smell dissipates after 20 minutes on skin. I kid you not, probably 2 hours tops on my shirt.

Well, I don't know what got into me so that I wrote this long ass review, maybe the hardships of my life makes me miss the times when everything was easier. But whenever I spray this on, my expectations brings me back to earth. Perhaps just like this perfume, the past is attractive because we only remember the good times, but when we lived through it, there wasn't much of difference than now anyway.

amokkaman

Refreshing scent for the hot days, especially the opening with the Sprite note is good. Unfortunately the performance is poor (2017 batch) and after half an hour it becomes a skin scent. The scent is completely gone after 3-4 hours, so you quickly burn through a bottle if you want it to last all day. Will not buy it again due to the performance, unfortunately as the scent is otherwise pretty good.

Dr Harder

I used to steal this one from my brother every time he visited us during his break from studies. Beautiful times. I remember getting a compliment from a cute girl from my class in high school. Back then it had enormous sillage so I was surprised to see negative votes here. Overall 90s gave insanely high number of legendary and memorable scents. Kenzo Leau, Chrome, AdG, Muglers A Man, Dreamer, Blue Jeans, Fahrenheit etc

Supermint

Cozy scent, evaporates from my skin quickly, will see how it sits on clothes.
Edit: Fades away to with no trail, like money of your pocket buying this. I don't know how it used to smell like in 99' but today's bottle is WATER!
Edit 2: Still like the scent, very energising in the morning :)

partha

Like the fragrance, uncomplicated fresh perfume for a warm day. This reminds me exactly the same way first impression 212 men CH gives, surprised not a single review below carried the resemblance of these two perfumes. Sillage is good, longevity could have been better.

Scotsman1981

You are young, the world is fresh, and you are on a pristine beach on a slightly overcast, breezy summer day with a young lady that is way out of your league, AND YET she is VERY interested in you. This is that smell and experience in a bottle.

Stays aquatic and dries down aquatic but develops more and more green until it simply vanishes, just like the young lady I might add, but leaves you with only fond memories.

katsong

I remember smelling this in 1999. It reminded me of Sprite back then, and it still does today. The final dry-down does change from the Sprite-like qualities to something that has more of a "blue" cologne feel. I think this could totally be unisex! I wish I owned a full bottle of this instead of CK One or CK Truth. This is also better than Dior Hommme Cologne, and really nicely priced as well. This would be perfect for hot weather.

TrephineArtist

This is a nicely refreshing and calming scent. I think this could be used by anyone, any age, male or male or in between, whatever, whoever! It's a very likeable, simple fragrance which smells extremely natural to my nose, it's very 'zen'. I imagine sitting in the shade of bamboo plants, sheltering from the sun or wading in a hidden forest creek on a tropical island (so it's simple but depending on the wearer, not necessarily boring!).

Of course those looking for a strong, complex or powerhouse fragrance can definitely pass on this one but for a light refreshing, smooth and comforting scent featuring non-sharp citrus and watery lotus flower, it may be worth checking out. Just keep in mind, for me at least it's severely lacking in the performance stakes, even for a fresh summery scent.

*Scent: 8/10 (simple, refreshing, calming, elegant, mass appealing)

*Sillage/projection: 4/10 fairly strong, bright opening then within 30mins it wears very close.

*Longevity: 5/10 (and only if you go heavy with sprays).

*Batch year: 2011

korleis

This is what an aquatic should be all about.
Something that gets your mind to the ocean, that gets your mouth watered. Juicy citrus and fresh sky blue seas.
Also brings back memories from the summers of the early 2000’s.
Solid like.

vinkosasihh

i would actually keep this if it has a better longetivity, on my skin 1 hour and its gone. sad because judging by the scent i like this more than versace pour homme, which to me both have this clean scent profile, but i would wear versace pour homme every single time just because of its longetivity.

AFJN

Timeless classic. Doesn't smell dated.
Very Fresh and uplifting, Very bright and fantastic burst of citrus on the opening. It lasts max 2-3 hrs on my skin. I enjoyed it while last, from opening to the dry down.

✓ Affordable
✓ Easy to wear
✓ mass appeal

If you want to find a fresh citrusy fragrance, please try this.

8/10

mixter99

Top notes literally smell like ice cold sprite (in the best way possible) and the bottom notes resemble an aquatic and sweet lotus flower. In one word pleasant. My parents even said it smells great (and they are super picky about fragrances).

If you need something cheap, high quality, unique, fresh and light that you can spray on a hot day without thinking too much, L'Eau Par Kenzo is a great choice. It is so clean it would go well even in a formal outfit, yet it is light enough that I wear it when I play sports outside. I guarantee most people will like this smell and girls would certainly enjoy it on a man.

Yes, it is not a powerful cologne but I say you the ideal is 6 sprays, for me it projected for 3 hours on a warm day but only lasted for 6 hours unfortunately. I still don't mind as you can respray it or spray some on clothes, which should make it last longer.

For me 8/10, a pleasant, clean and refreshing easy reach for hot weather

Virrepirre22

Criminally underrated freshie. My mom got me this as a present and i absolutely love it. Will be wearing a lot during summer. Performance could be better but its inexpensive.

hellogoddag

Very lemony! Actually a bit too lemony.
But it's aquatic too of course, and very fresh and summery. Would work great for a vacation at super hot areas.

idolinam

Limonade Sprite :)))

D3G

a stronger version of eau par kenzo pour femme...to me it's how it should be

NS2484

You'll get a blast of cool lime in the opening. That lasts maybe 10 minutes. Then a pleasant dry down which reminds me of the dry down of Bvlgari Aqva Marine, except less tangy-sweet. It's nothing like Acqua Di Gio other than the fact that it's also a warm weather scent. It's a good basic warm weather scent if you're looking for something that's different than the typical citrus heavy scents.

Cerulean

A friend of mine lend me his 90s bottle of this to try, the first ever formulation. (Darker blue rounded tall bottle)

Transparency and freshness was the big thing in the 90s, and it’s slowly growing back as a trend in a different scent profile. What is really interesting is that freshness back then was not portrayed necessarily as a screechy bright profile. There were a lot of aquatic freshies with oomph and character.

Vintage Eau Par pour homme was a citrus (yuzu) woody (cedar) floral (lotus) that was blended in a way that smelled like watermelon freshness. Playful and alluring at the same time, with moderate silage but definitely a 6 hour longevity which is quite impressive compared to the current version, which is still pleasant, but a short lived different scent overall.

I love how the theme of freshness was approached in the 90s. You could smell happy and fresh but with complexity and character.

Imagine Beyond Paradise for men by Estée Lauder, with better quality ingredients. Less sweet, more aquatic.

Beautiful and nostalgic.

Fragrance -L'Eau par Kenzo pour Homme
Bottle from - 2017

L'Eau par Kenzo opens on my skin with a fresh, green, aquatic and slightly sour citruses with dominant yuzu laying on top of a bit exotic flowers. The best part of this fragrance is the opening.I wish it would last longer.
After about 10 minutes, mysteriously romantic lotus starts to emerge. At this point,in the middle, dominant notes are lotus and mint enchanted with some kind of aquatic magic.
The drydown is all about musk with the tender trace of green notes and flowers and the citrus notes recede into the background.
L'Eau par Kenzo is a nice, soft and subtle scent. However,if you prefer strong fragrances, this is not for you.

Longevity - 5/10(4-5 hours)
Silage/Projection - 4/10(soft projection for the first 40 minutes, than sits closer to skin for the duration of the scent's evolution)
Weather - Best in summer
Age - 18+
Compliments - 7/10
Scent - 7/10

Main notes according to me -
yuzu,lemon,aquatic notes,lotus,mint.

The drydown is musky and I get some -musk,green notes and flowers.

Emotions - fresh,pleasant,relax,peaceful moments.

Occasion -perfect for sports activities, office, scholl, college and gym.

Try before you buy.

Cortina1981

Really beautiful scent! That's the most appropriate word!Unfortunatelly, like all aquatic scents,it has very poor longetivity, and that is my main, and very serious complaint.

llloyd

tfw u get to the seaside and enter the sea for the first time after so long... that unique smell and feel of freshness of life itself. remarkable scent. but gone after half and hour without a trace.
longevity in citruses is really a bummer but this one is the worst one i've had yet, not even an hour on my skin is such a shame.
somewhat synthetic feel to it also, but nothing seriously bothering.
always gladly go back to it.

russianGY

It is transparent, clean and fresh - like cool breeze on a sunny day. I did not try any reformulations if there ones.. In my experience- it is also an absolute winner in its category for longevity! It proves that light and ozonating colognes can be long lasting!
Green pepper note is kind of interesting surprise for me here. Don’t know any other cologne with this note.. maybe that’s what makes it really unique.
I will get it soon again.. I miss it.

Midnight Lady

Kenzo made a big revolution with this one and in my opinion - well deserved revolution. This scent (and also the female L'Eau) is totally different from all of the other summer fragrances. It's citrusy in first few seconds but the dry-down gets a bit spicy. Fresh and masculine piece of art with noticeable musk. But can be used as unisex though - and I know many women use this one that way.

Simply - give me tons of various scents and being blind I would always recognize this fragrance between them.

To me solid 8/10.

When Nose Takes you to Places

Imagine that it's the last days of winter, you go on the top of a mountain and up there, a river is flowing. You sit on a rock beside the river, the river's cold halo caresses you and the smell of green texture several feet away from the river is in the air and you open up the best sprite that exists in the market, This is exactly L'Eau par Kenzo.

Projection is arm's length for 30 minutes and Longevity is two hours( 12 heavy sprays), it's really lacking in longevity and projection departments, but I like it anyway

briannyc94

Doesn't smell bad, but not anything ground breaking. Reminds me of a lemon dish soap. Yeah......not the best out there.

Tazahr

Very lemony fresh opening and the musky drydown is one of the best in this class.

But longevity is very poor even less than one hour.

AMajeedQT

One of the few perfect summer fragrances.

It starts very citrusy, very zesty. Less than 3 minutes & the aquatic lotus starts to appear, giving it a sporty, fresh, & slightly floral dimension. It feels as you've just stepped out of showering with a sporty citrus soap. It's such an amazing fresh & clean feeling!

Later on, it slowly transforms to become very similar to Clinique Happy; fresh sweet citrus.

Overall, this is one of the best happy, fresh summer fragrances. I'd recommend it to anyone living in a place where the temperature is above 35C.

RIYL: Clinique Happy Men, Issey Miyake L’Eau d’Issey Pour Homme Sport, Bvlgari Aqua Marine & Aqva Amara, Chanel Allure Blanche Edition,...etc.

Bought this last week and it came today. Opened it up at the right time as I had a few errands to run and was going to spray cologne on myself anywho. On initial spray, The Yuzu, Lemon, and Lotus are very prevalent, I was not expecting a cologne so citrusy, floral and powdery, this is definitely a unisex scent. This scent totally fits in with Kenzo's perfume scents that are very floral. This is a first.
I do like the scent, it smells fresh , clean, with a big blast of citrus, and it is well done. There is a fine line with this one if you do wear it to the bar or club, you may have the same sex hitting on you. All in all I'd rate it accordingly.

This one is a bit more versatile than I first thought. I really liked this scent at first, now I realize it truly is a great scent. It actually has more depth after a couple times of wearing it, and now I've caught all the different nuances and ingredients. It's been great so far for intimate nights and alone time with my girl. .

Just make sure you get the authentic version, Real kenzo is gonna set you back at least $50, not $10-$15 like you're seeing on ebay. I've worn this 3 times, and it really is a phenomenal scent. I bought the updated version, which is sold here in the US and Europe, it's still the authentic version. I have not smelled the original version which is east Asian and has Japanese writing on the box. .

Amazing clean fresh vibrant scent explosion,I would compare this to a Mix of Citronella and aquatic clean linen I've had one lady older ask if someone sprayed bug poison but she just didn't like aquatics period. Citronella is not in it but that's how the lemon comes through I've had literally 100s of compliments when wearing this that's why this is a permanent part of my collection when finished I always restock it's great to shower at night spray this on after and jump into bed plus it's best to wear everywhere out,I love this because you always wanna sniff yourself under your shirt and your lover wants to smell you closer too. This goes on strong then fades down about an hour but can easily be refreshed by extra sprays or by just working up after sweat you can tell that it never went away in the first place. The L'eau Par Kenzo translates to WATER by KENZO......IT Definitely lives up to its name .....if you have any trouble finding it look online on EBAY for Shop called Fragrancenet or go to Fragrancenet.com for not only this cologne but every scent they have tester bottles for less than half the retail cost on most everything

This has a soft, clean smell. Longevity and sillage are okay so you need to re-apply it at least once a day.

One of the top 3 perfumes I love, along with ferrari light essence and black. I wear the latter two, but this wasn't for me(females) to wear because of the base note. I bought to my brother and he liked it! (he hates strong scents)

This is simply a very clean scent - soft citrus and clean musk.
I've never been a fan of lemon fragrances, but L'eau Par Kenzo is more the scent of lemon juice or lemonade and not the lemon zest, so it's not as bright and sharp. This soft lemon is well supported by the watery notes and a clean laundry musk. In fact, the scent of L'eau Par Kenzo reminds me of the smell of spray starch (a scent that I really like).
The sillage may not be great, but I can smell it on myself for anywhere from 2 to 4 hours. I wear it when I just want to smell clean and not particularly wanting to stand out.

ScottyBebop

Great work scent. Just got a compliment a few minutes ago from someones whos desk i was leaning over. Citrusy, airy, and clean are the words that describe it. Can't see anyone hating or being offended by it. Super safe. Gets close to the skin relatively quickly.

MetalMan

The clouds grow sinister in their mysterious burden - thier rolling is accented by the yellows and greens of some furious beast held within. With a rumble and a roar, the cloud cover snaps open to reveal an impossible machine - it's some unfathomable ship that slivers through the sky in a flurry of mind-numbing colors. Many try to look up at its sleek visage but turn away as it blinds any who try. Moments after the craft disappears, a gentle rain descends on those below - it radiates the citric warmth of yuzu and limes, it rushes like a cool river on the surface of your skin, and elates like hearing the whispers of a long-awaited lover. The thick, alien rain departs as abruptly as it arrived - you are left in a dazed euphoric state. The clouds roll out and the sun tingles on your skin - you catch wafts of an ocean breeze and sparkling woods. You go about your day and remember nothing of this odd incident - little do you know that your skin glows with alien luminescence...what a beautiful sight!

Day 82 - In the Grip
Listening to: Radiohead - Bodysnatchers

Notes: This was my first "summer" cologne and I love it as much now as when I first got it - it really is a luminescent wood of sorts. The opening is flush with juicy citrus (the lemon lime of yuzu is quite delicious!) and a cold, rushing water. I don't know if it's a thing, but the difference in air temperature right above natural running water has a smell which is quite closely captured in this scent! All of the flash and dazzle is over fairly quickly (an hour at best) as the scent morphs into a fizzy and sparkling wood. The fizz and wood phase lasts a good 4 or 5 hours before quieting to a sort of citric musk and woodscent. The notes can be revived with heat some 8 or more hours in, so this is like a fizzy second skin after the projection dies down. Noting its age, this is definitely one of the better citric summer colognes and it is completely unisex as it is more of an experience than a formal scent.

GRAF

L'Eau par is a very fresh, citrusy, versatile summer scent for man. You can wear it day and night, every day if you wish.
It opens with an explosion of citrus, yuzu, bittersweet and fresh at the same time.
The longevity and the sillage are bellow the average (1-2 maximun longevity and sillage so close to my skin, whoever want to smell it, must hug you), the only disadvantage of this summer juice. Don't mind to overspray because a little will remain on you after some time.
The most distinguished notes I get are yuzu, lemon, water notes and lotus. I like it very much but for longevity and sillage reason I wont buy it again. Its a pity to make a summer masterpiece and give it poor performance.

And now the L'Eau par from 2000

Very sour and fresh scent. Longevity about 3 hours, sillage was moderate with smart package full of grey sand.

joy4856

Heavy blast of citruses in the opening... Spicy woody background with exploding citrus top... Then it dries down to amazing natural green mangos

nektarvektor

4 words: Happiness inside a bottle.

It's zesty, fresh, fun but surely not flat or linear. There is an ice cream soda pop kind of body to it. The sillage and longevity are both on the weak side. However, I don't mind overspraying for this one. I mean, the name and concept is "Water for Kenzo." I can't imagine it being a strong-sillage fragrance with that name. It stays pretty much close to the skin and I think I like it that way.

This was my first fragrance when I was 16. I find myself always having one bottle in my fragrance collection. On my third bottle now and still use it. It is my go-to scent when I don't know what to wear, kinda like that favorite t-shirt you always find yourself wear day after day. I have seen this marketed as unisex in Asia. It is a great scent, and should be appreciated by everyone.

tl;dr: first-time fragrance buyers, get this one!!! fresh n' zesty, ice cream soda, stays close to skin. smells great on girls too.

foreignshores

One of my favorite fresh fragrances. The lemon and yuzu notes are just about as perfect as I can imagine. They stay crisp and tangy without morphing into that unsettling sourness that so many other citrus scents seem to do (e.g. Allure Homme Sport Cologne, D&G Light Blue). The drydown is a simple musk that does stay close to the skin, but I don't mind reapplying. That said, sillage and longevity are fairly decent If you like shower-fresh aromatics, they don't get much better than this. Don't hesitate for a minute if you're considering a blind buy!

maltatude

This may be directed at men, but I love this - sometimes after I shower and blow dry my hair, I spray some through my hair. It puts me in the best mood. To me, it's not ultra masculine, sharp or anything I consider 'masculine' specific. It's a unisex for me and very very nice.

erkek

Perfect fresh Scent but not enough longevity..
Cucumber and water must try..

samlovefragrance

This was my first fragrance! the first i chose to buy for myself at around age 15:) was around 2001, and for some reason this was the scent i loved the most from what the sales person handed me at the counter. Back then it came in the classic bottle with a tiny dark blue cap.
It projected a far-east zen quality about it, it made me travel in my mind even back then.
It's an aquatic with a far east twist from the yuzu, lotus and the bell pepper. It's fairly unisex and not your typical summer citrus, more complex.
The current version is more simple though.

scent: 7+/10
longevity: 4/10
sillage: 4/10

PontifexMaximus

Fresh, astringent yuzu balanced with lotus, water and succulent fresh cut green pepper on the top that quickly disintegrates into a watery musk with a touch of green and leftover lotus that sits very softly on your skin. A real game changer in the world of aquatic fragrances for men when it initially hit the shelves. Why? Organic subtlety was not en vogue in the 1990's in the world of aquatics when this one came along. This release paved the way for subsequent followers in the 21st century by making designers aware of a viable marketplace of consumers for more organic creations of subtlety that had predominantly existed on the niche market before.
The fragrance itself has a timeless air to it, partly due to its design and partly due to its very soft nature; it suggests an almost blank canvas where only the softness of the lotus, citrus, green and light musk have left their mark and it is up to the wearer to complete the 'obra' for themselves.
L'eau par Kenzo is very soft on moderate to dry skin, which makes performance a major issue for a majority of wearers. If you get 6-8 hours from this, consider yourself very lucky, it's a fantastic scent for any occasion in spring, summer and early fall and far less common than most of the big 90's aquatic offerings still on the market today. Most wearers should expect between 2-4 hours longevity and moderate sillage the first ten minutes, slipping quickly to a soft skin scent that radiates just a couple of inches above the skin.
If you are an individual who finds sophistication in subtlety, this is absolutely a fragrance you need to investigate further. Kenzo have stuck rather strongly to their lotus trademark over the years, so those already familiar with later releases will be surprised how less prominent the lotus is in the overall blending of the composition itself. Yes, it is certainly center-stage, but its dominance is masked by the green peppers, green leaves and water notes. The yuzu fades within 15-20 minutes.
Overall this is a very nice cologne for the kind of wearer who doesn't like to wear cologne often and prefers something more natural and in step with the natural accords of the body. This one is extremely versatile and you will never be accused of being imposing at work wearing this. Safe, thoughtful, organic, well-balanced and gentle. Not the kind of fragrance that will please those looking for big projection and performance, this is more of a mood piece for intimate moments or for making rather subtle impressions.

I used Hermes Un Jardin Sur Le Nil for long long time and I was looking for another perfume for male with fresh, natural, "soft" smell. Finally I found it. I got the version of 2006 so the package was different.

It would be one of the best perfume for male. It is so clean and fresh. It can last for more than 6 hours!

kajuska25

this is the very TOP of all men fragrances. It is very unique, clean, fresh scent with interesting undertone. it dries down to wooden and herbal tones- soooo masculine, works on me little bit like aphrodisiac whenever my partner use it :)
in the first so watery, juicy, then in 1-2 hours more wooden and herbal but in any way spicy or sweet. I can smell it all my life and never be bored of this fragrance :) i love both sides of it - the fresh one catches your attention and the wooden makes you totally fall in love with the mysterious, sexy, modern men...
I forgot to mean the bottle is amazing, like a piece of ice , complements the perfume so well

greatbitch

Imagine this scene:a young man with white shirt and light blue jeans sitting in a library, sunshine upon his shoulders, staring at u with a smile on face. This perfume is for those kind of men.
Clean,transparent,spotless......It's OK for men,or for women,especially for asian~
Truly:Kenzo knows asian better~

Gutipon

The opening smells like Mr. Clean cleaner

Very good drydown..

Jtay

Delicious, fresh, unique. This smells like nothing else on the market. Green with a particularly strong green pepper scent. Quiet, but so are many other great perfumes. Imo it is completely unisex.

To address a common complaint - this is in no way a generic replica of Acqua di Gio. L'Eau par Kenzo explores the green side of aromatic aquatics. AdG stays firmly on the white floral side of the family.

omar.melmo

Yuzu cliché ! That's how I would summarize this fragrance. A shower gel scent just to expand the "out of the shower" feeling, as said below, for when you take a bath before going to sleep for example. Longevity is good on me, but poor projection. It's obviously not a bad scent, it's just a functionnal fragrance, no more no less. Meh. Dislike.

mdunford

On my skin, this starts off with bitter, powdery yuzu and dries down rapidly to powdery and aquatic (NOT marine) accords. The aquatic scent, to me, is like standing in a room where someone is taking a cool shower with really high water pressure. Definitely not a calone blaster like the original KPH.

Sillage is almost nonexistent on me. If I give my wrist two big sprays, I need to put my nose right up against the skin to notice anything. Longevity is about two hours. This is something I only really use to make my "shower fresh" feeling last a bit longer--nobody has ever noticed me wearing it.

amirabbas

After wearing it several times this summer I can describe it in this way:

1-Very fresh
2-As light as air
3-Pleasant
4-Unobtrusive

It start with burst of Lemon, Yuzu, water notes and a little of floral notes. The opening note is very interesting but it goes away after 15 to 30 minutes. In the middle, floral notes will become stronger but lemon and yuzu are still there. ]n the middle you will get some water notes, green and fresh notes (specially the fresh scent of green pepper) and also some kind of vague minty scent. In the background there are some woodsy notes too. The scent doesn’t change a lot to the end of dry down.

This fragrance is more sweet than sour and very refreshing. For me it’s in the category of fresh an a little sweet summer scent like Issey miyake l'eau d'issey. If you check the notes there are similarities between these two in the top notes but the scents are totally different.

The only problem that I have with this one which stops me from buying it is projection and longevity. The projection is low and close to skin and longevity is a little tricky (sometimes it stays on your skin for several hours and sometimes it fades away completely after 3 hours).

kingderella

A fresh and clean fragrance for very hot summer days, with aquatic and citrus notes, and just a little bit of sweetness. Unchallenging and nice. Evokes a lovely day by the poolside.

The citrus is a little harsh at first, but that's over in only a couple of minutes, and it settles down to something gentle and pleasant.

Unfortunately, weak longevity and sillage.

Love the (current) bottle design.

reirenshin

This one is quite unisex in my taste.
Doesnt last long at all.
Bottle is beautiful, clear blue water is even prettier with that design than the woman version.

Evgenij Pchelintcev

Lovely smelling EDT! I really liked this one. Resembles Issey Miyake Sport, but more sourish and fresh. Very refreshing, moderately bitter and sweet. I had used this cologne a few years ago until it was finished. I would like to wear this fragrnace again!

Singularity

Was given as a gift by my gf as she really love the scent. Scentwise, I do love the aquatic yuzu citrus opening. However, of all the fragrance I have, this is one of the worst in terms of longevity. The beautiful opening last at best 5-10min on my skin before all there is left is a musky (slightly woody) drydown which last a further 15-30min. Tried to overcome the poor longevity by spraying on clothes but not much luck there.

In short - Beautiful scent but super poor longevity. Not sure how to judge sillage and projection as the scent does not last on me at all.

Hence, as much as I want to love this and use it during summer time, I find myself reaching for my Issey Miyake L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme which is similar in vibe (although not scent).

Blowhard69

Huge citrus-aromatic blast off the top that emits an interesting soapy fresh yet rather aromatic and green duft that comes off very airy, unisex and soft yet appealing at the same time. If you sniff closely you can pick up the green bell pepper, it's there and it takes the bite off the high-pitched yuzu and just tones it down enough so that the lotus can take a more prominent role in the overall structure.
This was a very unusual creation in 1999 and initiated a movement towards more minimalist aquatic creations that would catch more mainstream favor in the mid 2000's. Certainly Nautica Voyage pays homage to L'Eau Par Kenzo in its structure and concept and even if you aren't one for aquatics in general, this one is worth getting your nose under, as it's historic impact was rather large on the industry and became a reference point for the next ten years on how to build an aquatic without recycling the Acqua Di Gio formula. As important a landmark as this was, it still has a rather synthetic soul to it in the water and green notes that create a bit of abrasiveness on my skin after the first 30 minutes when pushing against the yuzu and lotus, this stuff is better left for the younger crowd, as I think a more mature man would prefer something a bit more organic and masculine. Women can easily pull this scent off if they want to wear this. For me a decent clean and fresh scent with an interesting combination of floral, green, citrus and musk but a bit too soft after the first couple of hours when the dry-down kicks in and this turns to a minty musk with a little bit of citrus and lotus residue. Starts to fade from the skin after four hours and by the fifth is generally gone. Projection is fantastic the first 30m to 1h before going soft very quickly. Can be found at rather affordable prices online, but given its weak performance and projection on most people, don't ever pay more than half MSRP on this.

Houdini4

So...Tried this the otherday as I always jump at the chance to try Kenzo fragrances because they're so scarce in UK these days. I only found this one in a clearance store with older and discontinued perfumes.
So L'Eau par is alright you know...A bright citrus which is aquatic and watery without any overly synthetic marine accords or salty notes. I Like this, hint of lotus and a base of white musk it's delicate and thoroughly pleasant.

Blowhard69

Fantastic soapy scent, the yuzu and lemon with the lotus and a hint of green pepper does wonders for those looking for something refreshing and less synthetic than many of your solid bargain buy Natuica releases. That top is perfect for sport and summer days, unfortunately it is real hit and miss depending on your skin chemistry in regards to performance. I know people who get 8-10 hours with this consistently. I consider them very lucky. As much as I love this scent, I struggle to get even 3 hours of longevity in the heat and though projection is great the first 30 minutes, this quickly becomes a skin scent and is very hard to pick up after two hours. The watery, soft musky woods dry down keeps this one very light and uplifting but also hinders its strength and staying power. Try before you buy this one, doesn't perform well for a lot of us here.

optoergo

refreshing and not many men wandering around wearing it.
good one

osiris5

Yes this is a really nice perfume with some exceptional notes and that is really fitting well on hot summer days. The opening is very fresh-citric zummi. It starts somewhat creamy-soapy-powdery. It reminds me a bit of Acqua di Parma Mitro di Panera. There is some green-floral peppery soap like scent in it. In the middle it opens up to a nice floral-minty note reminding you of lotus and mint. The lotus and the zummi give a citric-floral scent which attributes in combination with the mint note to a very nice freshness. In the end the sweet white musk with a aromatic ceder mixes with the aquatic scent.
This perfume is good for casual use but it is a bit more sophisticated than for instance an other great casual: aqua de Gio. It is not common yet casual. It has some class but it is still one of the better aquatics on the top of the casual perfumes. But then, it isn't a typical aquatic. In all ways it is a bit mysterious. It is like walking in a garden with a pond that is provided with a waterfall and that is full of lotus surrounded with citric trees.
It has an moderate longevity. It is in some way a special refreshing perfume something special for spring and summer.
This a real good perfume for every day use on warm moist days.

Veedabestchef

Very nice scent from kenzo. Not too strong very refreshing and clean. Reminds of that cleaning product from pledge or lemon cleaner. But is a nice scent. Very good on hot cool summer that refreshes you. Average longevity and ok silage. I get alot of that yuzu and citrus combining with a touch of green pepper to spice it up a little. A great spring and summer fragrance. Also great teens and up. A fun nice scent for everybody. You can spray more than 3 or 4. Its very safe to use and not overpowering

GRAF

Too citrus for me. I dont like it .

bsbnsc

very pleaseing scent that wouldn't bother nobody. very comforting indeed.

nice yuzu smell but I don't find it sexy. However, this can be used for a car air freshener.

I'll give it 7.5/10

konami125

Opens like Edition Blanche dries down like Bond No. 9 Coney Island.

Osmin

I liked this one so much, that while already having a bottle in a closet, I bought two more, gave one to a friend to share the excitement.

The opening is crisp and clean, very fresh, even better than Aqua Di Gio; at least that is what I thought then. So far, so good. There was one bad aspect, longevity. It starts to evaporate off your skin before the vapors even reach their destination. One hour or two max, after that, nothing, not even base notes.
Of course it was summer; in winter it might have stayed an hour more; with high humidity it could go to 4 hours, wearing layers of clothes could have helped this fragrance to stay on more, maybe 5 hours.
Alas, it was summer. Off went the bottles.
Real shame, I liked it so much.

lsh55

Sometimes I like to use a masculine scent and this is one of my favorites. I like the fresh citrus and it's a nice alternative to my other perfumes.

Review of the "old" version of l'Eau Par Kenzo.

Ah... My very first "real" fragrance (after all the Axe's and Adidas's). :)

I fell in love with the top notes, and still love them. Ultra fresh, light, citrus and green combined. Leans a bit towards a detergent, but it doesn't really bother me.
Ater a while a get a slight rubbery smell, just like in Acqua di Gio and Dior Higher Energy. Simultaneously, the spices start to kick in. L'eau Par Kenzo never gets too heavy or dark and stays a bit on the Unisex side.

Too bad my girlfriend doesn't like it.

7,5/10

saurabhjodhani

A very fresh and energetic summer fragrance. Yuzu Lemon is the theme of this fragrance and its sharpness is rounded off by SOME FRUITY NOTES which to my surprise is not mentioned here. White musk adds a little substance to this fragrance and takes it to the edge of aquatic. Although longevity is less than 4 hours, I still like it the way it is otherwise it would not have been what it is! If you live in a hot and humid country you can surely make this your staple.

waelh

If you are a fan of citrus fragrances DO NOT miss this one.

I am not sure if it is discontinued, but I have it stashed.I have 4 bottles of this.

You will get the notes written in the notes pyramid.

Love the musky dry down.

Projects like a beast.
Surprisingly long lasting compared to other fresh scents.

Nick M

Kenzo usually flirts too closely with the unisex line for me, but this is original enough that I had to buy it. It reminds me of a fruity, fizzy soda so it's definitely subtle and meant for casual wear. For what it's worth, the bottle is amusing and would be a great gift for a young man.

VictorLeon

Beautiful scent, very clean, but exciting at the same time, sharp yet subtle...actually, my most favorite citrus fragrance when it comes to odor, BUT!!!, extra short lasting, on me it doesn't last more than an hour, such a pitty...if only they could reformulate it without changing the scent too much, but with improved lasting... :/

Apocalyptos

Some people enjoy a cigarette for 10 minutes. I enjoy sniffing this stuff for the same amount of time. Very refreshing citrus with a good balance of sweetness. When you come down to the musky base, it's something you throw away immediately (like the fag end).

Molko

I had a sample and I enjoyed enough. Fresh, unisex, not like a trendy lime smell, rather a bitter or sour citrus and cedar aroma for hotter weather, easy to wear, but very soft, weak and doesn't last long, so too expensive for 1-2 hours "joy":(
update: I tried again today and It was more sweeter than sour, I thought it's the female version:) The smell is very pleasant, but sillage and longevity is under average...

Fergo

smells fresh. but does not last long at all, 1 hour perhaps. Silage wise... close to skin. perhaps one might try Kenzo Power.

IsaIsabella

Bought this one today for $26/30ml/1 fl oz! I couldn't not grab this as I bought the femme version the other day for $36.90! Insane!

This , although is a homme version, is definitely wearable by females. L'eau par kenzo pour femme is like icy lotus soaking in a cool pond while this l'eau par pour homme is the scent of a flowing river, full of vitality and zest.

The perfume starts off with a blast of yuzu and water notes, amidst hints of floral notes. The top notes are rather masculine, and reminds me of those aquatic smelling soaps found in hotels. But, when it gets to the middle notes that's where the lotus note shines brilliantly and injects a feminine edge to this fragrance.

If you're into clean, green, sharp scents like Elizabeth Arden green tea parfum, you should give this a try.

Longevity on me is around 2-3 hours, a bummer. The pour femme version however lasts around 6 hours on me. I love this scent but the longevity is putting me off! Maybe I'd try it out for a couple more times and see if I can increase its longevity. I used 2-3 sprays.
Edit: I can smell very faint whiffs of it the next day after waking up(10+hours). This scent gives a very, very faint presence on your skin after the first 2-3 hours. It kinda gives the impression of a freshly showered person rather than being an actual perfume. Good for smelling fresh!

Funny thing is, when I sprayed on the insides of my elbows it turned my skin red! (im fairly pale so it becomes obvious). I've no idea what sorta crazy stuff is in here although I have mildly sensitive skin.

Oh, and I live in a ludicrously humid and hot country with no four seasons.

jembigonjes

+ very fresh opener, good first impression! :)

+ great summer frags to wear in hot days. Especially for one who live in 'everyday summer place', Read: tropics, this 'refreshing scent' always work in nite and day.

- bad longevity below 1 hour I could barely smell anything on my hand.. what a pity.. I wont buy thing dont last long.. but wait..

- drydown smell is forgettable, vanish too fast for me to recognize it... it probably only work for cooler place, someplace with air temp less than 20 deg celcius and body temp less than 35 deg celcius.. just my 2 cents,,

for 2(+) and 2 (-) personally I will skip L'eau par PH

lolpatto

A lovely summer scent.
Very fresh off the top, I get a strong "lemonade" smell, as opposed to just a lemon citrus like say AHS or or Issey Miyake pour homme.

Dry down is quite unique, not really "sporty", but quite natural.

RUDOLFO512

Only one word describes this cheerful and fresh fragrance, "MASTERPIECE." It is very suitable for summer time. It lasts a long time on me.

hedward

I definitely get the green pepper. It is so genial!! I can't understand how so many of you can not smell it! It's the green pepper brings the "cold breeze" to this scent while the heavenly Yuzu plays the main role.

jivaswood

I used to like this perfume. But, unfortunately, changed the bottle and the scent was also changed. Nostalgia for old L'eau Par KENZO. Last but not least, that's a pure blend of Yuzu, Mint and Watery Notes.

This cologne reminds me of lemon tea. This cologne is good for casual wearing in Fall season.

CodyHowl

A tea house, with ripe lemons on display.

This fragrance is true to its notes, plain and simple.

Opens with a burst of lemon and yuzu, soon settles into a smooth, ever-so-slightly spicy mint and musk that is somewhat reminiscent of tea. Very watery.

This cologne is quite mild and inoffensive; perfect for the office.

I like it, but it really lacks that special 'oomph' that I look for in my fragrances. I'll stick with Power by Kenzo for now.

kleblanc863

One of my favorite citrus/aquatics. I got a lot of compliments from both men and women.

herreroph

Smells so nice, but...
Scent: 10/10
Longevity: 6/10
Sillage: 3/10 close to skin

buffomatic

Such a clean and fresh scent. The yuzu comes out strong and it stays for much of the longevity. Sillage is okay on my skin and I get about 6 hours of it. I just adore the smell of this fragrance and I just wish it projected more. Overall good buy.

Dadavan

Purest smell on earth, like the first day ever. I think this is my favorite scent ever. The problem, like others mentioned, is the longevity and sillage. Altough on me it lasts for quite a while (6 Hrs. I would say), and to be honest part of this scents charm might be the poor sillage, it just isn't meant to be overwhelming.

Scent: 10/10
Longevity: 7/10
Sillage: 4/10 (But as I said, it may be better this way.)

hossein_gi

heaven scent in very very poor sillage and last.thats all..
10/10 for the scent
4/10 for longevity
بوی بهشتی با ماندگاری و پخش بوی خیلی خیلی پایین..من زیاد حال نکردم چون عطر باید ماندگاری خوب داشته باشه

pcomarin

This essence has a mix of flowerness , wich is clearly represented by the lotus (very elegant and charmfull) and the citrous, represented by Yuzu and a kind of minted water..
The combination is a soft, pleasent, although elegant , citrous+sweet+flower oriental scent.
I really like this.. remembers me of acqua di gio a little bit..
The negative point is projection and longevity.. if you are looking for this.. stay way.. lasts 2 hours projecting for 45 minutes max...A good perfum for summer and dates , cause people closer will smell softly.
The solution if you want to cause impression with this: have decants of it and spray 3-3hours

Trobador

I really fell in love with this fragrance ! It's awesome, I feel ozone in it (myself), very fresh and very light and subtle fragrance! +100500

Migalex

I must give it to Kenzo that they are not deceiving anyone because the name tells everything about this fragrance, extremely appropriate, no doubt it smells of water, pure water, at least after five minutes. Great! Very inspirational. They are selling a lovely bottle of water.

storm61

Guys i have to be honest with you, i hate long long reviews about fragrances. Smells all about that instant emotion they give you, just like that instant love. Whether you liker her or not. Kenzo L'au Par Homme is an instant love story.

haasemanzi

7-Up !!!

ibrahim.lahham

SO far this is my favourite perfume of all time !!! i have two bottles in case one got empty !

pinballsummer

Citrusy, "flowery water". A great everyday summer scent, and can usually be found at bargain prices on airports etc. Longevity is quite poor, unfortunately.

The bottle design is a classic!

vxgas

I used to love it a few years ago. The sharp refreshing citrus scent is great for all year round. Bought my forth bottle last week and I have to admit that I also get a headache when I sniff it. The formula must be bad for health! Geez

malik2011

this is one of the most refreshing summer scent ,,it gives you a rel feel of clean just as u stepped ou of a very refreshing shower waaaaaaaooo, citrusy and soapy at the same time , the only drawback its modest (projection) it is a sort of re application frag >>>

boulouboulou

If you like citrus and minimalist harmony, check this one.
Kenzo have made some bombs by the past but seems to make consensual fragrances this days. L'eau pour homme has a very simple accord that stays always the same from top to bottom. In return, it can be boring. But I still go for it when I want to feel fresh after a quick shower in the hot days. It is a bit energizing and clean, nothing really amazing but pleasurable.

My personal freshness hit, above ozonic / aquatic fragrances that are less natural.

Lasting : good considering it's citrusy
Projection : nice as I spray a lot
Evolution : none

SoapyScentGuy

This cologne smells very lemony at the beginning which I like very much. The unfortunate part is that it dies down to nothing within two hours. This would be a great scent if it had some longevity.

ekopengen

@trinity13 : I agree with you, this perfume is very weak in term of longevity and sillage. I put 6 heavy sprays, and it only lasts four two or three hours. But, it smells very nice

trinity13

do you smell "Sprite" on the top notes??
only lasted 1 hour on my skin i think

rx

One of my early favorite perfume. Sweet and fresh, with a noticeable strange sharp scent reminding me of ant (the green pepper scent?). I wear it day or night and my wife like it.

It smells expensive in an air conditioned room. Very nice, will buy another one.

the skin smell and low durability.

Seila

Great scent! No lasting power though.

mj9999

@suffocater

I guess so this is..tried Le Male and I guess it really wont work in tropical countries..Too strong.. Well, this smell is almost everywhere, including Lacoste Style and Play and Bvlgari Extreme..

Marcel

Very nice scent: simple, honest, fresh, minimalist, gentle. I find it very citric, with a mild floral heart and a subtle musky base. I don't know why it's clasified as aromatic aquatic. I'm not an expert, but for me it's more citrus aromatic. I find it somehow similar to Montana Homme on the top notes, but Kenzo is not as strong as Montana.

Sillage is quite good for the first two hours (then it stays closer to your skin), but in a subtle way; it won't shout and announce you are in the room, but its aroma will be noticed.

Longevity is weak to average, I would say 3 to 4 hours.

I still prefer the original Kenzo (that one is really aquatic); it has more character, it's stronger, has amazing sillage and stays with you the whole day. But Eau is still worth trying and owning.

Elka-Karamelka

Its already the 3rd time in last years that I buy this perfume for me, a woman. Believe me, I've never regreted!
Fresh and long lasting, makes you feel secure and sexy.

ososigma16

I have to say that this is the perfect fresh smell for summer, a few fragrances will make you feel this kind of fresh, unfortunately last a couple hours, may be three hours at most, so if you want to keep smelling fresh, you need to take the bottle with you and spry every two to three hrs.
That's what I do (lol), and believe me, you will be so happy with this fresh smell!!!

Cester

I remember buying a miniature version of this a few years back just by the sale's person's recommendation. Bought it just to mask the cigarette smell because my parents would kill me if they found out I smoke. I think it was quite worth it because as soon as I reached home, they asked me if I just had a shower outside. Fresh, young and somewhat sweet is what I'll describe this.

ecerusen

i'm a girl, but when i was a teenager(like 12-13) it was my brother's perfume and i was using it secretly:) it smells fresh but impressive.and very similar to femme version.i think it can used as unisex

hamze

very light

freddiefingers

I was apprehensive at first in purchasing this one as most of the reviews were about the poor longevity this offers.Am glad I gave in to temptation and went for it.

Unlike most people I get 10hrs at least on this one-no kidding.I guess i must have good skin for this one or maybe am not normal...I must admit I did have to use four sprays instead of my usual two with most fragrances and that could account for it "not leaving my skin" after those long hours at work in humid conditions.

I do like the lemon smell and the dry down is very good for me:slightly powdery and with the lemons still staying close to the skin.am not sure I have any other fragrance that I can compare this to.

It's disappointing to read some people dismiss this smell as cheap.it's very good to me and will recommend it.
wore it to sleep last nite and I didnt find it irritating to my nose.just a soft and discreet smell once you dont over apply.

Never really been a fan of aquatics but this one is making me have a change of mind.

Based on my experience,I will recommend this one highly for hot days and nights.Ignore all the longevity issues some moan about and give it a try.You might love it for its refreshing nature

Akahina

I agree with most of the reviews here. Rather light and a little bit lemony. Smells clean and fresh and after drydown a hint of soapiness for me. Silage is on the weak side for me and it lasts for about 4 hours on my skin. A nice summer scent but for me, nothing too special.

Matin

An aquatic aroma, fresh and masculine. In the output appears yuzu intense, almost with lemon , pepper, and bassil for me very aromatic citrus, too ... but within minutes you can see a quiet and water lotus with sparkling notes of pepper and a touch of yuzu citrus fruity characteristic. A good perfume for lovers of Aromatic Aquatic.

interesting, energetic, fresh and it have character , for Men .

jerichodeg

In Asia, or at least the Philippines, this is our version of Le Male and Boss Bottled. It became EVERYONE'S signature scent when they realized that Cool Water was over-used by everyone.

The light blue liquid perfectly represents the smell. It's a refreshing aquatic with a hint, just a hint of powdery note. It lacks adequate staying power, just the typical Kenzo sillage and longevity.

Mushroomfat

I smelt the spout of the bottle and it smelt exactly like 273 Indigo to me, only less soapy. So yes, I like it.

behzad1280

Oh .. Very mild and kind and lovely man would wear it! He should be less man and more angel!
Wear it whenever you feel like an angel! Then people feel it too! Surely they should hug you to feel it!

Minity Meo

He is a lemonade "rules". Very fresh and clean fragrance, very acceptable for hot days or nights.

JustinV

On my skin:
Top : A fresh opening yuzu!! (yes yuzu!!), and a little woody and spicy ath the same time 1-2 hours mark.

Middle: Technically, i get nothing =(

Base: I get nothing =(

An invigorating scent...that has poor longevity on me- =(

This is a good scent for fresh-citrusy scent, this is by far, one of the scents which is on par with l'eau d'issey and acqua di gio loser XD

A great scent for the day, or for the work.

Practically, it is a good scent, it is not ground breaking, it is an easy scent, girls might be pleased with the scent.

The country I am in has no 4 seasons, so it is either hot or cold weather. This works very well on both, but better daily, it is a little quiet at night or cold, but for sure it could be someone's date scent.

My rating (base on 5 stars)

Scent: 4 (a scent to look forward to).

Sillage: 3 (not bad, not profounding, not shouting, just nice, by a whiff ppl will smell you).

Time length: 1 (=(((( poor on me).

Occasion: 3 (work, work, work).

Overall base on mathematics: 2.75/5

For some reason, this scent reminds me of under the sun set, sipping my pina colada, enjoying the breeze of sea air, the sea smell and the beautiful bikini girls at the beach =)

Kenzo....

DO SOMETHING WITH THIS SCENT!!! POOR LONGEVITY Y'ALL!! DO SOMETHING, AND THIS WILL BE THE DARK HORSE FOR AQUATICS!!!

gypsy parfumista

What a beautiful fragrance, so clean, so light and so smooth! *Thanks Natt, for the sample!* Summery without too much fruit or sweetness...

I was going to order this blind, but got cold feet (nostrils), and went with MJ's Jordan instead (and the notes listed were incorrect for the Jordan)...and it smelled nothing like I'd expected! :-( I definitely should have ordered L'EPKPH instead!

This begins with a sparkling yuzu note (imagine grapefruit crossed with amalfi lemons!)and the clean scent of rosewood...amazing. So simple yet so elegant; watery, but not aquatic or too calone-y. The heartnotes of cool refreshing mint and lotus are sweet and soft. The drydown on this is subtle-an airy white musk with nuances of sheer cool pepper, but still warm and sexy. This begins calm and clear, then warms as it goes, like a body of water in the sunshine. It's like a dip in fresh water on a hot day...refreshing and cool at first, but sensual and warmly familiar once you're in it. I must get a bottle of this wondrous juice!

Sillage: fair then close
Longevity: okay to good
Overall: 3.75/5

I do LOVE this fragrance, but with the sillage and the longevity issues...it went into the 3 range-but it is stunning, just a little light. It is worth owning nonetheless! I will be getting a large bottle, as soon as I can find one for a good price. This something anyone could wear regardless of age or occasion-or even gender, give it a try-it's REALLY nice...

Kudos Kenzo!!

arrogante

Boy, when I first sprayed this, the top notes DID remind me of lemonade; ice-cold, sparkling lemonade, and lemon peel. And when the middle notes started to set in, I was finally convinced that I found my signature scent! It is clean, soft, relaxing & cooling in every way possible - I actually picture a "gushing waterfall on top of a mountain full of trees" whenever I smell this. It must be the lotus. It's close to being Zen-like, but I can safely say it remains masculine all-throughout its duration. This is perfect for men 18 to 30 years old (but I can imagine a woman pulling this off, though).

It would've been perfect, except that it doesn't last that long - maximum of an hour. But there are a few scents that make me feel this way, so what the heck.

Dad jax

In some previous comment i saw some one saying it's lasting is 25 mins, i must say that he got some rotten/expired bottle, cus on me it lasts around a minimum of 30 mins and max of 31 mins..!

ryguy17

smells like grapefruit and lemon pledge

rockindave

I don't usually go for the aquatic scents (they are so, so common) but this one is quite different. It is really refreshing when you first spray it on - heaps of sweet lemonade scent; quite the thing for summer.

Once dried down the scent is mostly sweet floral.

Not the longest - lasting; I've just reapplied after 3 hours and the first application was pretty generous... I would wear this anytime but I think it would be best for day-time use, especially during summer (which is quite long where I live)...

Just the thing for the weekend too; I'm thinking wear this with your best jeans, t-shirt and blazer to Sunday brunch at your fave cafe...

jasonx

This one starts out with a lot of citrus but then the sourness dies down in about 10 minutes. That's when the fragrance really comes alive. The beauty of this scent is in its middle notes with the lotus. It smells really pure and natural. Smells like real lotus but better. However, it only last for lest than 1 hour then the boring peppery base shows up and L'Eau par Kenzo completely lose it shine. The base is so deja vu. It smell like a way waterdown version of CK Truth for men.

sasadeen

It's a peaceful, clean and fresh scent.

A charming simple scent that reminds me of waterfall or rainfall, after that I can feel the green notes of the grass, so fresh and clean then it becomes sweeter that drag you to the nature scent. Perfect for the real hot summer day.

The lasting power is not so good, disappear from skin within about 2-3 hours.

nattonline

First, it begins as a nice sweet scent of refreshing watery lemonade. It never gets citric, and the scent pretty stay this way for a while till the mint and/or musk comes in. This Kenzo has a touch of woody musky'ness; just enough to give it a masculine edge and separate it from being unisex. However, I can see anybody wear this. Perfect for summer. It does not last very long, so get the biggest bottle when making a purchase.

mal23

Gives me a headache, more like a freezing aquatic. I do not like the Lotus and yu-zu notes in this. It adds to the fragrance being a synthetic one. Overall a 6/10

Lance

Watery, fresh, and amazing long-lasting on my skin! Love it!^^

Kenzoboy

This is my all time favorite scent. This fragrance suits "a simple guy who doesn't need to prove himself. It is very mild, fresh and unique. I got plenty of compliments from this one. The silage is not so good compare to other but its perfectly refreshing anyway. I would keep it forever :) LOL

arshia_pku

I luv it...i used it since in junior high school until now...From the old bottle until it changed now...

denmaz

For me, it is great for aromatherapy. Arousing cozy feeling. Really comfort. I think it is unisex too.

jonovon

I'd like to tell you my story with this scent.
I had been to Lebanon, and of course got enchanted by the rich Lebanese cuisine. Whenever I travel I like to buy myself a bottle of perfume. I'd surely find a nice Arabic attar unavailable in the Western world if only I cared to do so. So bad I couldn't do this in Lebanon (maybe I was too busy eating like a pig, having happy hours in the bohemian neighbourhood of Gemmayzeh and staring at the gorgeous Lebanese women). On my way back, there was this connection in Paris that left me like under 15 minutes to buy a perfume bottle or some other goodies at the duty free shops. I just found it more cautious to run to the plane. Next stop Rio de Janeiro. In Rio, I stepped into the first store and tested some perfumes. That's when I came across L'Eau par Kenzo pour Homme. Its mint note caught me instantly. It reminded me so much of the Lebanese food. You know, they season their dishes with mint and zaatar, so Kenzo apparently made this scent with the humble intention to please me. I had to buy it on the spot.

Besides my sentiments about it, this eau has character. It manages to be simple and clean, but somewhat intriguing and complex. Like drinking scented water. I don't usually like citrusy notes, find them too common, but yuzu here doesn't take over the composition (except for the first sparkling notes). Despite having a liquid feel, I find this scent not sporty, but very adequate to wear outdoors or to a working day at the office. Or I wear it just to relax on my own, like a personal medicine (I'm sure everybody has something to call his personal medicine). And the best thing about this cologne is that it reminds me of the wonderful days I passed in Beirut, so it lifts me up to an undescribable mood. :)

Zaleska

For me it's an unissex.
My sister has a bottle (wanna steal it! LOL).
Unfortunatelly it doesn't stay with you all day long. But smells very fresh! So, enjoy this freshness a few hours! :)

EDIT 05/29/2010:
My sister gave me her bottle! Thank you, Carol!!! :)

zero101

this is my favourite. it's very fresh and light.

surya vai

smells just great! relax, calm, watery, fresh, free :)

"guest_surya vai"

urobian

A zen vision of an aromatic water. Kenzo tried to express a soft balance with the relation of liquid in someting fresh but intimate to wear.

albania9diadem

Fresh and light, but unfortunately there's a sharp note that gives me a headache.

JZ

it's so fresh! all my friends like it and actually it's unisex. but it doesn't last long, only about 1 or 2 hours!!! however, i still love it.

Eros

Re-post:
Fresh, complex, rich, very thin definite smell of LIVE (alive) wood + aquatic componenta. That is the smell of spring time, when the nature is waking up and streams of running water are all around you. Very unusual, not musky, not sexy, but can be seductive by its originality.
It's dry ending is now imitated by STDupont "Passenger".
Very easy to wear. Not too strong. Impossible to overdose. Chemistry is good. Lasts 6+ hours with no or little changes.
One of the best purchases I have ever made.

Rockdj

my choice from kenzo, it is aromatic, aquatic, clean and fresh. perfect 4 everyday use, it's not overpowering at all is soft and the staying power is good. the top notes r great mixed with woodsy under tones. nice bottle like the other kenzo colognes.

m_pooka

I love this refreshing fragrance, but since I live in a hot city it lasts for less than 3 hours. Although many people may disagree, I credit it as an everyday choice.

elaida_00

fresh, clean appropriate for young men, not the average perfume

Althea

smells unisex to me, doesnt last long on skin, I guess it is OK for summer, nothing can be spoiled by this one, but just like woman version, both are easy to forget.

Perfumaniac

Great light refreshing scent for the summer. The staying power is not that great, so I tend to reapply every couple of hours.

saturn_man

feels so sexy, specially with white boxers.

piotrek

One of the best fresh man's perfumes, very original, unfortunetly it doesn't stay all day.

gigimarketing

It is very fresh and not so common as Acqua di Gio...only problem, but is the same with all this fresh perfume, is that it don't last so long. I put it this morning at 8 but know is almost dissapeared:-(

DF118

fresh and aquatic.highly recommended for summer

tommy_girl

I like it very much,it's not as tough as other perfumes for men and it refreshes you.

afraafra

Great alternative to Acqua Di Gio, good top notes and great woody masculin base notes
