Gwen Stefani is ready to connect with her fans in a different way — but some folks think she didn't make the right move.

On February 3, the No Doubt leading lady announced on Instagram that she will be "trying something new" with her Facebook page by creating an "official fan group." The singer called for followers to join her over on the social media platform and she teased that it would be worthwhile. "Who knows, maybe I'll be putting some exclusive stuff on there and maybe I'll actually see you there too," Gwen said in her Instagram Reel.

"Join now and get a first look at content from my team & connect with other weirdozzzzz! see you in there! 💋gx," she wrote in the caption.

As exciting as it was for Gwen's fans to hear that she wants to reach them in a more personal way, many couldn't help but feel disappointed that she chose to do it on Facebook. Since making her page back in November 2007, the "Hollaback Girl" singer has amassed a whopping 10 million followers. But it turns out that she has lots of listeners that don't keep up with her there and they let her know in her Instagram comments section.

One fan commented: "NNOOOOOOOOOO! I don't have Facebook!! 😮😢. Another wrote: "A shame I'm not on Facebook anymore 😭😭😭." A different person said: "Why not Instagram?? I haven’t gone on Facebook in many years."

While folks were frustrated, there were just as many fans ecstatic about having another way to communicate with Gwen. Someone wrote: "I'm so down for this 👏👏." Another added: "I'm so excited! ❤️." What's more, there were followers already raving about the new Facebook fan group. "It's so fun omg!!! I love seeing everyone's posts! This is such a genius idea 🙌🤗💛."

In the age of social media app — Instagram, TikTok, Twitter and Clubhouse just a few among them — plenty of folks feel like Facebook is a little too dated. That said, based off of the stellar reviews already, maybe some will be tempted to rejoin for Gwen alone. Perhaps, later down the road the songstress will consider expanding it to various social media platforms, so everyone can participate.

But until then, Facebook it is!
