This answer contains spoilers… (view spoiler)[I think that the author dropped plenty of hints little by little of how he felt and when he developed feelings for her. I think she was 16 and he was 19/20 when he started seeing her romantically and that he realized he really liked/loved her when she was 19 or something (the year she switched to pair skating). I was a little confused by the timing of when Jas went from single skates to pair skates but I think the timeline for their relationship went roughly like this:

1. Jas meets and befriends Karina at the age of what? 5 or 9 years old. I'm not sure, the year Jas starts skating. They hang out at the rink and in their houses all the time and Ivan is around. Ivan being four years older probably doesn't think of Jas romantically but he likes her as a person because he admired her for treating his sister as a normal kid and not like she was the rich daughter of the owners of the ice rink. He notices things about her like her liking Pegasus, chocolate cake and they are around each other enough to be in family photos together.

2. Jas turns 16 which her family said is when she hit puberty and likely started to physically attract Ivan who was probably 20. Before this she also had braces so its like she went through an ugly duckling tranformation of sorts. She tells him his costume is wack and they start thier banter banter relationship, still seeing each in the rink and thier private homes. Who knows if he noticed Jas first because of her sass or her looks but he definitely notices her differently starting with this year. He keeps noticing little things about her like her favorite jump and he learns how to do it well too (or maybe she learns that jump because he could do it already). I saw it as it kind of becoming both of thier signature move, something that connected them. I wish there had been more descriptions of them actually performing their skating programs together during the competitions and perfectly synchronizing thier impresive jumps.

3. Now I'm confused about this part. I thought that Jas switched to pair skate when she was 19 or 20 but then the math doesn't add up because she was with Paul for three years, alone for probably one and then joined Ivan which would make her 24 years old at most but she's 26 in the story so maybe she switches to pair skates at 22. Did they ever explain why she decided to change to pair skate? I forget. Either way, the year she switched to pair skate he said he instantly wanted to skate with her but was not able to bring it up in time. He didn't know how to bring it up and I also imagine he couldn't just drop his current partner esp since he implied his first ones were not very nice (ie tried to blackmail him). The timing didn't work out. When she got her partner Paul, Ivan was very upset by this and didn't talk to her for six months. I imagine that during these six months if he didn't realize it before, he probably realized the feelings he had for Jas. After the six months Jas says he continued teasing her/arguing with her but now more than before. It would have been fun to have read more of these scenes, like Ivan glaring daggers at Paul during competitions lol

4. Paul leaves Jas, Ivan immediately threatens Paul to stay away from her and probably starts his grand plan. The moment he can gets out of the contract with his last partner, he asks Jas to partner with him. I think at this point, when she's 26 and he's 29/30 he was in love with her and would have done anything to get her as a partner. I think the manager was in on the plan (lots of hints about this) which consisted of Ivan offering Jasmine the position for only a year to hide his feelings and making it seem he was left partnerless out of the blue to appease to Jas' pride.

That's how I see it. I'm sure the timing of their ages is clear in the story but I devoured the book in two days and didn't pay close attention to those details. I'm satisfied with the amount of information we got about Ivan's pov. It would have been cute to see more teenage years banter but it was enough. It's definitely not clear cut though. On the other hand I think dual pov is sometimes too much and single pov like this is part of the fun. Ivan was definitely open enough about his feelings for me to feel satisfied. I was a bit turned off by Aiden at the of The Wall of Winnipeg because I feel he never really opened up towards the end of the book and the timing his feelings really do stay a huge question mark from beinging to end. Ivan on the other hand expresses his feelings quite a bit.

Has it got eternal internal monologues? Because I really like the plot, but her books tend to have lot of int monologues which really put me off
