The Inspiration: Tintin

The intrepid cartoon journalist in Steven Spielberg's new movie, The Adventures of Tintin, also happens to be one dapper chap. And just because he's animated doesn't mean you can't steal his look

Tintin might just be the perfect dandy journalist: adventurous, clever, youthful, and stylish in that French, I don’t even have to try to look this good kind of way. Born from the mind and pen of Belgian artist Hergé, Tintin is getting the big-screen treatment thanks to Stephen Spielberg, Peter Jackson, and the CGI wizards at Weta Digital. In The Adventures of Tintin, he gets shot at, escapes kidnappers, survives the open seas, and crash-lands a plane in the Moroccan desert, all while looking like the most dashing golfer on the planet. How many writers do you know who can pull that off? We’re guessing none because, well, Tintin is a cartoon. But we’ll be damned if you can’t at least look the part.
