 The Dulwich Green Kitchen

“I was 100% sure i wanted to use Herringbone for our kitchen. My other half took a bit of convincing because we had to go to Canterbury for the design consultation....I think his words were "What?! There are no kitchen designers in London?". However from the moment we met Luke and saw the quality of the product he was won over and we didn't have to look elsewhere.”

The Design

We recently completed this stunning kitchen for a family in Dulwich, London. Our lovely client wanted a design that would stand the test of time, work for their young family and work hard for them as a room they always use. The kitchen features two runs of lower cabinetry on each side of the space, with a long island holding the buttler sink. Perfectly central to the island sits a stunning pantry larder allowing for essential storage, which makes the kitchen work smoothly on a day-to-day basis. Open shelving sits above the right hand worktop holding the family’s glasses and colourful books adding personality and style.

“We really love the quality of the kitchen overall - it feels really solid and is just so nice to use. Everything is in a sensible place and nothing feels like it shouldn't be there. Luke did a really great job of balancing our requirements and understanding how we would use the kitchen.”

The cabinetry is our popular Westminster Range, a traditional shaker style cabinetry with a hint of modernity in a gorgeous dark green colour.

The Details: Colours, Hardware, Worktops Etc

This dark green colour changes as the light moves through the room, making it a space to enjoy throughout the day and evening. The brass handles add elegance and style to the cabinetry and compliments the herringbone pattern splashback perfectly.

Our vision was to have a space that allowed inside/outdoor living for the kids and allowed us to invite friends and family over without embarrassment!

The RSJs are painted in the same colour as the cabinetry making the space come together perfectly, finishing the design off. The Quartz worktop works perfectly for the young family as it is hardwearing and easy to clean. The double buttler sink on the island allows for more workspace and social living, whilst being practical.

On Using Herringbone

“Knowing that we had Herringbone waiting in the wings with such a fantastic customer service and quality product made the rest of the project less scary and meant that I had certainty from day one that the kitchen would look fantastic no matter what. Having such confidence in the kitchen also allowed us to make other design decisions really quickly as we had such a good idea of what we were getting and how it would look. Luke was really great throughout the project, really flexible and always on the end of the phone to put our minds at rest and give us the best advice.
