Fiat: scoop on future models up to 2029

Illustration IA Fiat Panda - Italpassion

While Fiat launched a Topolino and a 600 in 2023, 2024 will most likely see the launch of the new Panda. About 2 months ago, we even tried our hand at predicting the number of future Fiat models until 2027. Fiat had even recently confirmed one new model per year until 2030... without specifying which part of the world.

Today, thanks to a document we were able to consult, here are the future Fiat models scheduled until 2029, with their respective platforms and engines. Note that there will also be Scudo, Doblo and Ducato models not listed in the table below, which will also be renewed on X2, K0 and STLA Medium platforms.

Fiat Panda in 2024

So it comes as no surprise that we'll be unveiling a Fiat Panda, on a CMP platformThe Panda will be available in 100 % electric and hybrid versions, like the new Citroën C3 and e-C3. Positioned as a crossover city car, it will have to offer an attractive price, which will not, however, rival that of the current Panda.

Compact SUV in 2025

The rumors were true, there will be a C-SUV in 2025. Still on the CMP platform, according to our document, it would only be offered as a hybrid and not as a 100 % electric... surprising. It will probably be a cousin of the future Citroën C3 Aircross, a small SUV planned as a hybrid and 100 % electric. As for the name, there are rumours of the Multipla, but when we spoke to Guillaume Clerc, Fiat's product manager, this didn't seem to be a likely hypothesis.

Fiat Egea in 2026

In 2026, a new Egea. As a reminder, the Egea is the name of the Tipo in Turkey.. So will it be a new Tipo, a sedan that can be converted into a compact and an estate... Once again, it will be based on the CMP platform and offered in hybrid and electric versions. Here too, we'll have to keep a close eye on the Citroën C4 Aircross, which will also be based on the CMP platform and offered with the same powertrains, while the C5 Aircross will be based on the STLA Medium.

Fiat 500 in 2027

Numerous rumors had already spoken of a possible new 500 for 2027, which may finally arrive a little later in 2028. In any case this new 500, whether for 2027 or 2028, will be the first Fiat model on STLA Small. This platform promises a range of 500 km and a power output of at least 70 kW (95 hp). For the moment, we have no further information on this new platform.

Why replace the current 500 so soon? Like the Tonale, the Grecale and the new Granturismo, it is a technologically locked-in model between FCA and Stellantis. The current 500 is and will be the only group model to use the Small platform, with its own battery and motor supplied by GKN. It's not a bad car in itself, but the possibilities for evolution and mutualization are limited. Like the 500 Abarth, which offers 155 hp, while the future 600, based on CMP, will offer 240 hp...

Fiat Pulse in 2029

This model will not be for us European, but more for Brazil. The Pulse is a small SUV coupe that is enjoying success in Latin America. and will therefore have a successor 100 % electric in 2029. The current combustion model starts at €19,000, so the price of the electric model will probably not be a problem. The electric car market is currently growing in Brazil, with a new plan dubbed "Mover" by the Brazilian government aimed at accelerating the adoption of electric cars.

  1. Still no replacement for the Fiat Punto in the program.
    Lots more SUVs.
The Fiat Panda sells so well because it's a very economical and practical car. If the next Panda becomes significantly more expensive, sales will be more complicated.
I don't quite understand why the current platform of the Fiat 500e and Abarth 500e couldn't accommodate a more powerful engine?
I think the 500th is 3 years old, so why are we already thinking about replacing it (within 3 years), when the old one lasted 13 or 14 years?

    • Because it stands alone on its platform, its engine and its battery, made in mirafiori in a factory with maseratis. Putting it on stla small will allow us to pool our resources.

      • And how does the current platform prevent a more powerful powertrain for the Abarth 500e?
The Abarth 500e, with its 155hp and 155km/h top speed, is a little short of the mark for those who, like me, have had Abarths.

        • I don't personally know the limits of the platform. Just follow Stellantis' reasoning: it's the only single-platform car, engine, battery, made in the same factory as a Maserati. They won't spend any money to make it evolve. I'm not judging, just stating a fact. If they'd wanted to launch a 108, c1, etc. on the same platform as the current 500, why not, but that's not the case. And I think this has an impact on the selling price of the 500, but also of the abarth 500. €36,900 for 155 bhp is the price of a 600 that also makes 156 bhp.

          • It's the logic of the big car companies that I don't like, which consists of producing different versions of the same car, just changing the bodywork and finishes: the new Lancia Ypsilon is a slightly redesigned Peugeot 208/Opel Corsa with different finishes, but it's going to be the same car. What's the difference between a Peugeot 2008/Jeep Avenger/Fiat 600/Alfa Romeo Milano?
It's the same at VAG: if you want good finishes, you buy an Audi, and if you want to spend less, you go to Skoda, and in between, you have VW or Seat. In the end, you get the same car everywhere.
Brands are losing their distinctiveness, and I don't think an Alfa Romeo buyer would want to drive a PureTech engine as announced for the Milano, or an electric motor used by the other Stellantis brands.

  2. Fiat Egea is not a crossover, but a range of compact sedans, 4-door, 5-door and station wagons... A prerequisite for essential fuel efficiency.

      • I do hope that 100% will turn its back on the solutions offered by Citroën: ugly, unnecessarily high cars with sluggish handling. This is my only criticism of the 600e: the steering should offer a "City drive" mode, as in the old models, but be much more consistent by default. As for the rest, Fiat has managed to make the Topolino and 600 cute, so let's hope the same is true of the Panda.

  3. Well, my little friends, after careful consideration, since the Punto and Mito aren't being replaced, I'm going to give up my 208 HDI with an AVERAGE fuel consumption of 3.9 liters of diesel per 100 km over 22,000 kms (it'll never be better) for the new Suzuki Swifft hybrid due out in April 2024. The 208's habitability is appalling, and I'm sick of bending over backwards to get in and out... and I'm not even talking about the rear seats. All models on the CMP platform have and will probably have the same flaw. In a nutshell, I'd say that the little Swifft, inexpensive to buy, economical and reliable, is more roomy, albeit shorter, than the French B-segment models. I'm being a bit provocative, but that's too bad.

  4. According to passionne auto italiane an all-new Ducato should arrive in 2025/2026 and apparently there are rumours in Turin concerning the testing of an all-new Ducato at the end of 2025.
