When Clifford Chance announced last week that it would be leaving its coveted skyscraper in Canary Wharf after over 20 years, it marked the end of an era for law firms’ interest in the Eastern Central London business district.

The firm has opted to pre-let 321,100 square feet of space, set over 12 floors, in 2 Aldermanbury Square, an address in London’s Square Mile that the firm has connections to from its distant past. It will move there at the expiry of its current lease at 10 Upper Bank Street in 2028.
