A typical central Connecticut ridge underlain by the Jurassic Talcott Basalt and Holyoke Basalt. The outcrop itself is in Talcott Mountain State Park and collecting is not permitted. However; specimens can be found below, on, and in the talus slopes. Part of this locality includes the two King Phillip Caves. Calcite is most common beneath them.
