Testing will be conducted with an AMD FX 8320 with ASUS M5A99FX motherboard at Turbo mode speed of 4.0 GHz. Each cooler will be tested by turning on the system, waiting for one hour for the system temperatures to stabilize. Once stabilized, temperature readings will be recorded using CPUID HWMonitor for the Idle reading, then running Prime95 for one hour to stress the system for the Load reading.
I will also keep track of the room temperature using an AcuRite 613 Indoor Monitor and correct for any readings that deviate from a 25°C ambient temperature.
(NOTE: Please remember that results will vary due to computer system components and test environment.)

After several test runs we find that the Mugen Max is an outstanding performer. If you were to compare the temperature readings to a sound level you would say the 3° degree difference in Load temperature of the Mugen Max is half the level of its nearest competitor. Speaking of sound levels, the Scythe GlideStream fan is whisper quiet at all speed settings even when sitting within 4 feet of the closed computer case.
