Drake's Face Tattoo Slammed by Fans After Rapper Trolled Dad for His Ink

Just a day after mocking his dad's tattoo, Drake has been criticized by his fans for getting a face tattoo.

Canadian rapper Drake revealed his new face art on Instagram, showing his followers that he got his mom's initials inked near his left eye. Drake shared his tattoo news with his followers just four days after posting an image of his dad's arm tattoo of Drake's face.

Drake's face tattoo became a trending topic online with the reactions ranging from praise to rolling.

Video footage from an Instagram story online showed Drake receiving the face tattoo, and the rapper later showed the end result as he dropped a number of photos on his account. The initials "S G" are now tattooed on Drake's face, as Drake seemingly confirmed in the caption that it stands for his mom, "Sandra Gale."

"Now which one of Drake's lil friends told him it was a good idea to get a face tattoo?" Asked journalist Natalie Harmsen on Twitter.

"That better b Drake's last face tattoo," wrote the fan account @NickiDrake_Fanz, obviously disapproving of his ink. "Drake got a face tattoo...where are we as a society right now?" asked @vvvictorp. Other social media users joked that he got Selena Gomez's initials tattooed to his face.

@joeyshaa called it "the last straw" in response to the tat, while @Kodakbetter mocked, "drake the typa guy to get the worlds smallest face tattoo."

Many others questioned why Drake would wait until his mid-30s to get a face tattoo for the first time. Drake is now 35 years old while his heavyweight champion dad was 36 years old when he got his now-synonymous face tattoo. The backlash towards Drake's new tattoo is ironic after he had seemingly mocked his dad's tattoo just days before.

On Monday Drake shared a picture of his dad's arm tattoo and wrote, "I was just sitting here thinking why you do me like this we family" with some laughing emoji. His father, Dennis Graham, replied in the comments, "Hahaha I had 16 people to try and straighten this out, they're hurting me." Graham added, "I love you and miss you."

Many people shared their amusement at the photo as it itself became a viral topic.

The man who gave Graham the original tattoo, Money Mike, spoke to TMZ and explained why the image didn't come out as expected. Mike claimed he created the tattoo while at a birthday party in 2017, and he was rushed through the job, which is why it didn't come out well.

Drake's tattoo of his mother's initials isn't the first time he's got ink to pay tribute to a parent. In January 2014, Drake shared a picture of a tattoo that he seemingly got of his father's portrait.
