Marilyn has a new song ‘All That Glitterz’ produced by Boy George and sit sounds very, very Culture Club.

George co-produced the song with Benny Massada under his real name George O’Dowd. The track was recorded in London, New York, Botswana and Bolivia.

Marilyn popped up in 1983 with the hit song ‘Calling Your Name’. It reached no 4 in the UK and no 3 in Australia.

In 1985 Marilyn released his one and only album ‘Despite Straight Lines’.

Peter Robinson aka Marilyn was born in Jamaica in 1962. In the early 80s he was a regular at Steve Strange’s London club The Blitz. It was here where he met Boy George prior to George forming Culture Club.

The first time we saw Marilyn was in a scene from Eurythmics ‘Who’s That Girl’ video.

Fame faded fast for Marilyn. After his fall from fame he hit heroin hard and had drug problems for the next 20 years. In his 1995 biography ‘Take It Like A Man’ George outted Gavin Rossdale of Bush announcing to the world that Rossdale and Marilyn were in a relationship in the 80s. Marilyn later admitted they were together for five years. “Gavin and Gwen are perfect for each other, but he was the love of my life,” he said in an interview.

George’s book also claimed that Marilyn once tried to pick-up David Bowie in a London nightclub.
