British pop star Cheryl Cole has become the face of L’Oreal in Britain. Cole, who sings with The Girls Aloud and is an “X Factor” judge, will first promote a product named “Elvive Full Restore 5.”

Cole, 26, won her place in Girls by appearing on UK hit show “Popstars: The Rivals”. The wife of Chelsea and England footballer Ashley Cole, she was on the cover of British Vogue in February.

“I have always loved the brand and have always wanted to say the iconic phrase: ‘Because you’re worth it,’ so to be given that opportunity is absolutely amazing.”

Rumor had it that Simon Cowell personally chose the Newcastle-born singer to be a judge on the American version of “X Factor.” So far, nothing has developed. In April, Cole was named the World’s Sexiest Woman 2009 by men’s magazine FHM. She beat out Megan Fox for the spot.

Beyonce, Linda Evangelista and Jennifer Aniston have all been L’Oreal frontwomen in years past.
