Gabourey Sidibe and her husband Brandon Frankel are getting ready for double the fun.
The Academy Award-nominated actress — best known for her roles in the film “Precious” and TV drama “Empire” — took to social media on Tuesday to announce that she and the brand strategist are expecting twins.
“I’m pregnant! We thought it was time to give our cats some responsibility so we’re giving them each a baby to take care of,” she joked in a caption on a series of Instagram photos. “Double the babies, double the cats, double the fun!! Twin Delivery coming soon! Twinty Twinty Four!!”
The couple, who met on the exclusive dating app Raya, were quietly married in 2021 after getting engaged the year before. But it wasn’t until December of 2022 that the “American Horror Story” actress revealed they’ve secretly gotten hitched.
On Instagram, she referred to their low-key nuptials as a “kitchen counter” wedding during the “thick of the pandemic” while sharing their “official wedding photos.”
The expectant twins are the first children for Sidibe, 40, and Frankel, 38. The latter, who serves at the head of tour marketing and branding at L.A.-based agency 33 and West, was previously married.
