PNE centre back Paul Huntington admitted he was impressed with what he saw in front of him this afternoon.
The North End man was a mere spectator from the defensive line when Aiden McGeady equalised for North End; It was a trademark finish from McGeady who curled the ball into the net from 25 yards on the stroke of half-time.
Although North End's winner was a little more straightforward with Jordan Hugill firing home from point blank range, Huntington credited the attacking prowess from North End's forward players this afternoon after recording a third home victory in a row.
"It would have been nice if we didn't have to go behind," said Huntington after PNE pegged QPR back from 1-0 down to 2-1, "but I thought we deserved the victory."
"Even before the sending off we changed our formation for the second-half and we were much better - I thoroughly enjoyed that second-half.
"It was a pleasure to watch the attacking players and it was just such a shame we couldn't kill the game. We could have had four or five but we'll take the victory and move on to the next game next week."
One of the players that 'Hunts' would have been alluding to is McGeady who continued his fine run of form with another man of the match award to his name.
"It's standard McGeady really and he's done that quite a few times and you're thinking it's just normal for him and it was an important time to get the goal," said the towering defender on McGeady's finish.
"Their 'keeper has been outstanding and you suddenly think that it's going to be one of those days but thankfully we've got the win, they've been in decent form as have we and we've managed to close that gap on the top six."
As well as watching what was in front of him with delight, 'Hunts' of course had a job to do, to defend North End's goal, a task that may have proved more difficult than usual with the number of players out injured.
He continued: "We had a couple missing but that's part and parcel of football and that's why you've got a squad.
"We mixed the shape around first-half and there was a bit of uncertainty but in the second-half we went back to what we know and it opened up more to us."
