This attractive, deciduous, small to medium-sized tree can reach about 20 m tall, with a spreading crown of entire or lobes leaves that are serrated along the edges. The tiny flowers are followed by white or rarely red, edible fruits. Originally native to central China, Morus alba has been in cultivation for more than 4000 years. It makes a desirable, fast growing, robust and widely adaptable ornamental tree for temperate and some tropical climates.
