what news on the geobat RCU Shot of the moment?
I keep seeing a cool plane on RCUs Shot of the moment yet I have been able to find no info on it.
Anyone know about this plane?

Seriously? no one knows?
So how did it get there?
Who made it?
Is it a comercially available craft? Looks too unique to be comercially available but the detailing is astounding.
Anyone?

This is a version of the Geobat. Mark Murdoch, who is the test pilot for the Geobat team, built this different version. It is the Tractor bat since the prop is out front instead of the pusher version. Yes the Geobat is commercially available in the electric pusher version made from De-pron.
To the moderators, this is not a push by me as an advertisement. I am only answering the questions asked about this aircraft. If there is a problem with my posting
my apologies.

Hello,
[8D]
I am the guy who built the circular plane you are referring to.
It's a GeoBat with a tractor engine. As Wade said I am on the Geobat team
www.geobat.com
I am their test and demo pilot.
We have a 1/4 scale version that flies very well.
There is a aerial video of it and the foamy Geobat in the video archives of RCU.
I am new to RCU. I am just getting up to speed as to how things work here.
You can click on My profile and then go to my gallery to see the tractor bat model you refer to.
I spent 6 months designing this model on auto-cad and building it. I put a lot of detail into it.
Thanks for the compliments on it. It really came out too heavy to fly well. It does fly though.
It's very clean and fast. It just doesnt slow down like most GeoBats. I plan to experiment more with it this winter.
It has a OS15 CVA and spring air retracts in it and is made of balsa ply with carbon fiber reinforcements.
It weighs 3 lb's but has 800 sq/in wing area.
But after building some foam / electric versions I'm just having too much fun right now.
If you look at the above we site you'll see normally the plane is a mid engine. This works much better.
It seems to minumize torque effect when the engine is in the middle.
People always ask what is the benefit of this design. I tell them it is the flight envelope.
These planes are capable of very fast and slow flight. And I'm not talking about hanging on the prop,
I'm talking about the wing works very well at a high angle of attack. It's very effiecient that way.
Yet they are very fast as well.
If you have anymore questions feel free to ask
