Castle Hotel Ryn in Northern Poland

Ryn Castle in historic East Prussia and present-day Ermland-Masuria was built in 1377 as an order castle under the direction of Grand Master Winrich von Kniprode.

Situated on a hill, it dominates the townscape of Ryn next to the lake (Jezioro Ryńskie). It served as the seat of the commander until 1525, was destroyed several times over the centuries and rebuilt in a modified form. The last structural changes were made after a fire towards the end of the 19th century. The four corner towers and the circumferential battlement were built during this period.

Today, the castle complex is strongly oriented towards tourism and is run as an upscale hotel with wellness and SPA facilities. The inner courtyard was roofed over for hotel operations. It serves as a dining room and event venue. The same company also runs the castle hotel in Lidzbark Warmiński.
