It takes a lot of confidence to pose nude for a magazine cover, and that's exactly what Hilary Duff just did. You can find pictures of the Lizzie McGuire alum cracking her signature grin, showing off a few delicate tattoos, and wearing nothing but a pair of earrings for the May/June 2022 cover of Women's Health.

"I'm proud of my body," said Duff in the new interview. "I'm proud that it's produced three children for me. I've gotten to a place of being peaceful with the changes my body has been through."

As for how she achieved that peace, there were a variety of factors, explained Duff, who had an eating disorder at 17, according to Women's Health. "It was a whole mix of things — of being settled and realizing that I'm powerful and talented and smart. All mental things," she told the magazine.

Always one to keep it real, Duff pointed out all the behind-the-scenes magic that goes into creating cover-worthy photos, such as her new ones, in which she's rocking a wet hair look with natural makeup. "I also want people to know a makeup artist was there putting glow all over my body and someone put me in the most flattering position," said the actress said. She also prepped for the shoot by adjusting her workout routine. The How I Met Your Father star started training with Dominic Leeder ahead of the shoot, according to Women's Health. She worked out with him four days a week, focusing on strength and stability. Exercises included weighted squats, lat pulldowns, single-leg bent-over dumbbell rows, and quick bursts of cardio, such as 30-second sets of jumping lunges, the magazine noted. Stretching, rolling, and massage gun sessions rounded out the regimen.

While there's no doubt Duff looks amazing in the final photos from the shoot, she seems more concerned with how she's doing mentally than anything else, based on her conversation with Women's Health. "We bust our ass to get our bodies in shape and to look the best we can. We get facials and Botox and our hair done and highlights and brows and lash lifts and all this shit. But I want to work on the inside," she said. "That's the most important part of the system."

For her, that includes regular therapy sessions and occasionally unwinding with takeout, a crochet project, and a good book at the end of the day, she told the magazine. While she's certainly no longer Lizzie McGuire, Duff appears to be as relatable as ever, even when posing nude for a major magazine cover.
