Arrests Made In Oklahoma State Fraternity Dead Longhorn Case
Just before the Big 12 Championship game in early December, a dead longhorn steer was found on the front lawn of the FarmHouse fraternity in Stillwater.
The Longhorn was allegedly placed there by members of the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity, as part of a prank war. The Longhorn had the words '(expletive) FH) branded on the side.
Last week, four arrests were made in connection to the incident by police.
Bennett Fady, Luke Ackerley, Brody Shelby, and Andrew King - all members of the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity - were arrested Wednesday, and charged with misdemeanor unlawful removal and disposal of a carcass.
After a necropsy was performed on the animal, it was determined that the Longhorn was likely already dead when the prank was committed, with a disease being the likely cause of death.
All four of the men have pleaded not guilty to the charges.
According to the arrest warrant affidavit, the fraternity held a party at a family member's house, where the plan was allegedly discussed by Fady, but discouraged by other members.
It was also indicated in court documents by investigators that there was a 'significant lack of cooperation' from the fraternity in regard to the incident.
"There was a significant amount of collective lack of cooperation from the Alpha Gamma Rho organization, as it related to the investigation into the incident," the investigator said in the documents.
