Mike Tyson Has Interesting Response To Potential Boxing Comeback

Could we be seeing Tyson in the ring once more?

Mike Tyson has given an intriguing response when asked about possibly having a return boxing match.

Fight fans were in for a treat during the pre-fight press conference for Tyson Fury vs. Francis Ngannou. Mike, who helped train Ngannou for the fight, was challenged by Fury's father John, making for an entertaining presser. John has said in the past that he has great respect for Mike Tyson, but insists he's serious about a potential boxing match.

Tyson took John Fury's words in jest during the presser and even played along with some of the antics. He also doesn't appear to be too interested in the idea of fighting John, as Tyson has been complimentary of the Fury family. With that said, "Iron" Mike isn't completely ruling out a possible return to the ring.

During a Champions Gala Dinner, media members asked Mike Tyson what he thought about John Fury's antics and a possible fight with the father of Tyson Fury.

"I don't do that stuff no more," Tyson said. "I only fight for money, okay."

Tyson then followed up when asked if a return fight is possible.

"Everybody wants me to fight an exhibition," Tyson said. "Everybody, hey listen, if the price is right."

The pro boxing career of Tyson ended after he quit on his stool before the seventh round of his June 2005 bout with Kevin McBride. Since that time, Tyson has grown into a pop culture icon, and admits that he's in a much better place than he was in during his boxing days.

With that said, the itch to compete was alive and well for "Iron" Mike. Back in November 2020, he had an exhibition bout with fellow legend Roy Jones Jr. While no official winner was declared and the unofficial judges scored the exhibition a draw, the general consensus is that Tyson looked sharper and faster than Jones.

Time will tell if Mike Tyson will receive an offer that'll convince him to return to the ring.
