Painting as Film Noir.
A downtown diner late at night
We stare uninvited through the large plate glass window. We pause and reflect on the emptiness of modern life. Dense shadows of the deserted urban streetscape surround us.
Wolf Wondratschek penned:
It is night
And the city is deserted.
The lucky ones are at home,
Or more likely
There are none left.
Cue: Muted saxophone and footsteps receding out of sight in… the distance, the film set is Closed now.
