To install the Spartan 3 Pro RGB, users will need to prepare the plastic mounting bracket by inserting the clear plastic clips into the holes. Once done, apply the mounting bracket to the motherboard before using the black push pins to secure it.


With the mounting hardware in place, it's time to apply thermal compound and mount the cooler. After that is done, simply plug everything in and you are good to go.

The mounting hardware works well enough, but I wouldn't recommend shipping a system with the heatsink attached. It feels solid enough, but is just plastic, and unlike the Intel stock cooler with its light weight, this design is a bit heftier at 476 g. Regarding overall difficulty, I would rate the Spartan 3 Pro RGB's installation a 10 on a scale of 1 (hardest) to 10 (easiest). It really is exceptionally easy to install.
