Astronomik CLS CCD tip Clip filter for Canon EOS Full Frame

This filter is suitable for photographing nebulae, star clusters and also galaxies even from close to the city. The contrast of deep sky objects is improved, because the light from artificial illumination is blocked to the maximum. This allows 3 times more exposure before the sky background lightens. The CLS CCD filter thus improves results whether working close to cities or under dark skies away from settlements.

The CLS CCD filter is ideal for photographic use on telescopes of all apertures with focal ratios from f/15 to f/2.

How the CLS-CCD filter works

The filter completely blocks the emission lines of low and high pressure lamps (mercury (Hg) and sodium (Na)) and the glare lines of air. This improves contrast everywhere, even under dark alpine skies.

All important emission lines of astronomical objects are transmitted. The filter also blocks infrared light (IR light). Therefore, an additional IR blocking filter is not necessary.

The filters sit securely and without tension on the camera. Mounting and dismounting is easily done with your finger, without the need for tools. There is no need to modify the camera to use the filters.

Note: the optical viewfinder does not work with the EOS XL clip-on filter installed, as the flip-up mirror is fixed in the top position.

The patented Astronomik Clip-Filters are made of black anodized aluminum and laser-cut on state-of-the-art machines. They can be inserted in a matter of seconds directly into the EOS camera body. No changes are necessary and all lens functions (focus, display, image stabilization) remain operational.

Almost all Canon system lenses (with the exception of the EF-S series) and all M42 and T2 lens adapters can be used with the Astronomik Clip-Filter System. The Clip-Filter System also acts as an excellent dust shield, preventing the possibility of dust settling on the sensor during long time exposure (The MC-Clear filter has no filter effect and only acts as a dust shield).

Compatibility:

Canon EOS 5D and 6D with full-size sensor are compatible.

The 5D Mk I will only work without LiveView, the 6D MkII will not work with XL-Clip filters.

Please note that XL-Clip filters will not work with the Canon 5DS, 5DSR and 5D Mk IV.

The filters are also not suitable for Canon EOS, EOS M, EOS RP and EOS RP Astro.
