CloseAlthough commonly called English lavender, 'Violet Intrigue' is technically from the Mediterranean area, thus thriving in full sun and dry soil (once established). Exceptionally long stems of violet blue flowers bloom throughout the summer, attracting butterflies, bees, and humans alike. A light pruning early in the spring will help keep this lavender compact and tidy, and removing spent flowers will prolong blooms as well. 'Violet Intrigue' can grow up to 30 inches tall and wide, making it an interesting option for a low-growing hedge, but would work equally well in large containers or borders.
