Barbra Streisand, 81, has hinted that she wants to have "more fun" in her life after admitting she feels she hasn't had much to date.

The actress and singer, who has enjoyed a long career in showbiz, is set to discuss her journey in her upcoming memoir My Name is Barbra.

The award-winning performer appeared on BBC Breakfast on Monday where she was interviewed by Mark Savage. When asked about her future plans, Barbra responded: "I want to live life. I want to get in my husband's truck and just wander, go around, hopefully with the children somewhere near us."

She continued: "When they come over, they love playing with the dogs, y'know we have fun. I haven't had much fun in my life, to tell you the truth." She concluded: "And I want to have more fun."

Barbra shared during the interview that "music is work" to her, explaining: "I love making records, but what I have to go through to get it out [includes] mixing it [and] listening to it on different systems. It's work. I mean it takes time."

She then joked: "So by the time it's over, I never wanna hear it again. Until maybe 25 years later."

Instead of music, she prefers playing games on her phone. She said: "That's the way I take the problems of the world out of head, out of my brain cause otherwise I couldn't be able to sleep. So when I'm playing backgammon [or] playing solitaire, y'know you have to think. I wanna win, I wanna win that game. That calms me!"

In her upcoming memoir, Barbra discusses how she still hurts at the suggestion she would have to change her appearance after becoming successful. She also revealed the racy comments Marlon Brando once made to her, despite the fact both were in a relationship at the time.
