THIS is the dramatic moment a plucky postmaster chases off shotgun toting father and son robbers dressed like Little Britain pair Lou and Andy.

Courageous Tony Williams was handed a police bravery award for confronting the pair, who were dressed in wigs, hats and women's clothing, while one of them pushed the other in a wheelchair.

Shocking CCTV footage shows the armed raiders enter the shop at 9.23am on March 23, 2015 before running out two minutes later, with Tony chasing close behind.

Tony said: "I knew something was about to happen when they came in so I hit the panic button. Then he turned around with a shotgun."

He said Martin Pick, 39, who was sat in the wheelchair had pulled the shotgun from underneath a blanket covering his legs and leapt onto the counter and shouted: "Give us your money, where's the money?"

His son Declan, 18, who was pushing the wheelchair, then pulled out an air pistol and pointed it at Tony and pulled the trigger, but nothing fired.

Tony said: "I just felt outrage at the cheek of him thinking he could shoot me.

"I think it was the adrenaline that made me chase them."

Tony was hit over the head with a crowbar in a scuffle with the duo outside the post office.

Several members of the public also came to help Tony during the chase and one of the robbers was pulled to the floor and held down by have-a-go-heroes.

A third man, Mark Pick, 43, got out of a getaway car and fired a double-barrelled shotgun into the air.

Tony had doubts about whether to carry on his business in Boston Spa, West Yorks., and even put the shop up for sale but has since taken it off the market.

He said: "Sometimes, even two years on, I get flashbacks but I'm trying to get over it and get on with my life."

Martin Pick, of Wetherby, West Yorks., was jailed for 18 years, Mark Pick, was jailed for 16 years and Declan Pick was sent to a young offenders' institution for eight years.
