Adrian Peterson spent Tuesday working out inside while his teammates practiced outdoors during the Vikings’ organized team activities, but coach Leslie Frazier said the decision was simply to give Peterson a break.

“No nagging injury,” Frazier said. “Just decided to give him the day off.”

Not that Tuesday was actually a day off for Peterson. The 2012 NFL MVP ran on a treadmill and did “a pretty intense upper-body workout,” he said.

“To be honest with you, I did more work inside there than I probably would have did out here,” Peterson said. “So, I guess you could say it was a day off, but it really wasn’t.”

Wide receiver Greg Jennings was absent from the Vikings’ OTA on Tuesday because of a personal matter, Frazier said.
