APT with LSD: Elettra Wiedemann

For this latest installment of APT with LSD, Lauren Santo Domingo found herself welcomed into **Elettra Wiedemann'**s home, a bright, cottage-like space, with a sunny kitchen and stacks of books—the long-awaited home of this self-confessed vagabond.

“This vintage dress is so 90s,” says Elettra, “Clueless for sure, hands down. I can still watch it and quote all of it and I never get bored. That movie is genius. For 90s TV, I would have to say Pop-Up Video on VH1. Remember that show? I have no idea why they stopped it.” (Music-wise, she is a classic rock gal: The Beatles, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin.)Photographed by Claiborne Swanson Frank

Happy—the name of the chihuahua mix dog that model Elettra Wiedemann and her handsome Brit business consultant husband-to-be, James Marshall, adopted from a local shelter last year—is the perfect mascot for the Manhattan-based couple. While the duo could be called many things (gorgeous, successful, and elegant are just a few of the possible adjectives that quickly come to mind), “happy” is the one word that sums them up best. They are the co-founders of One Frickin Day, a charity they started to help raise money to equip struggling Partners in Health clinics across the globe by asking people to donate just one frickin' day of their annual salary. It’s a noble idea, and it has certainly taken off. Blessed with legendary good looks (Elettra's mother is Isabella Rossellini and her grandmother was screen icon Ingrid Bergman), what makes this couple truly beautiful is the ease with which they live their life at their home in New York's West Village, and how they share their good fortune with the world around them. Sharing, they say, is what makes them happy—and having Happy the dog around doesn’t hurt either.
