Let's get one thing straight: if there's one sprawling metropolis that can claim singer Lily Allen as its own, it's the one within this United Kingdom.

Sure, Lily's now living in a brown stone with her family in NYC. Yes, she's embraced sobriety and now practices reformer Pilates with views of the New York skyline and (according to her Instagram photo dumps) may have adopted a not-insignificant daily supplement regimen. In other words, she's increasingly very New York wellness vibes.
But an artist who rhymed 'struggling with bags from Tesco' with 'I believe that is called al fresco' in her ode to her home city (2006's LDN - banger)? Come on.

Londoners - those born, those bred, those who came later - aren't about to readily accept that Lily is anywhere close to a (Metro)card carrying New Yorker.

And yet, a snoop through Lil's latest Instagram Stories suggest she's leaning in to the 'holiday' season in her adopted home.

On a series of Instagram Stories posted on Wednesday night she shared her Thanksgiving dinner prep. She shared pictures of stuffing, trifle and cranberry sauce - all homemade. This was alongside something called 'Stove Top Stuffing Mix' which she describes as 'an abomination', but one that her actor husband David Harbour (you might recognise him from Stranger Things) apparently likes.

Even more impressively, Lily's been leaning into the local traditions and getting ahead while feeling pretty bloody rotten thanks to some unnamed winter lurgy.

'I am so ill with whatever this virus is that's going round,' she wrote. 'But trying to get as much prep done as possible.'

'Not even sure why, we're not even American and it's just me and my kids and they couldn't care less,' Lily continued.

Then, displaying a shade of humour we'll trace to this side of the Atlantic, she quipped: 'Anyway, stuffing done.'

In later IG Stories, Lily wrote: 'You know it's serious when you're bringing the loo roll to bed'.

Our (also quite sniffly) sympathies. A later post shows Lily's adorable kitten purring in her lap - so hopefully she's getting some much needed rest before it's time to do the turkey.
