Hi! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in California. I have worked as a school counselor, helping adolescents navigate challenges like, self-esteem, bullying, grief, anxiety, internet safety, the pressure of school, and family or peer conflict. I also work in private practice, with clients struggling with a wide range of mental health challenges including, Anxiety, PTSD, Depression, Grief, life stage changes, and anger issues. I work with clients to help them process the effect these challenges have. Together we focus on identifying negative thinking patterns or unhelpful behaviors, implementing healthy coping skills, and reducing symptoms.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

For a lot of clients anticipating the first session can feel intimidating. Knowing what to expect can help ease your mind a bit. During our first session we will have an opportunity to briefly get to know each other. We will discuss your needs and concerns and what brought you to therapy. We will do an initial intake, which is just a fancy psychology term for learning a little bit about your history, including childhood, education, relationships (family, friends, partner/romantic). Lastly, we will discuss your goals and expectations for therapy, how frequently we will meet, i.e. weekly, bi-weekly and then schedule our next session.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength as a therapist is listening, being non-judgmental and empathetic. As we build our therapeutic relationship I am able to create a treatment plan using techniques such as meditation and Mindfulness to help navigate life stressors.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love working with clients who are struggling with finding their sense of self, due to things such as past trauma, societal, familial, and cultural expectations, and/or significant life changes.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have worked with clients struggling from various mental health challenges. such as anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, and life transitions, by helping them gain a better understanding of how negative thinking patterns, and underlying core beliefs effect how they feel and what they do. We work together to identify and challenge these unhelpful thinking patterns to reduce symptoms, and increase your overall well-being.

Attachment-based

Using this science-based theory, I work with clients to help them better understand how their experiences as children with their caregivers, can impact how they navigate interpersonal relationships as adults. Together we will work on helping you learn your attachment style, so that you can build stronger and more meaningful connections.

Strength-Based

Strength-based therapy works from a place of seeing clients as resourceful and resilient when faced with adversity and life challenges. Together we will process your history of pain, trauma, or life stressors from a place of strength, resilience, and capability.
