1/72 S-model IS-2 tank kit
The kit is well detailed. The main reason I prefer this kit over other "quick-build" IS-2 kits is that the tracks have a realistic pattern. The Dshk machine gun is too flimsy so I just leave it off. I may replace the Dshk machine guns with metal ones if I can find a reasonably-priced offering. The grab bars are also another flimsy point (as they are on any other IS-2 model at this scale). I bought some very thin wire at my hobby shop to replace the plastic grab bars included with the kit. I plan on drilling holes in the turret to securely install the metal wire grab bars. Overall, this is a great kit. Though it is something of a "quick build", it has several parts. I think wargamers will appreciate the relative ease of assembly while more serious modelers will find it detailed enough for ... The kit is well detailed.
