Smoke and Water Damage

Many older books and archival materials have been damaged by fire and smoke. Unsurprisingly, this damage often goes hand in hand with water damage. Water can compromise media and cause planar distortion in paper and parchment. If the object has not been completely destroyed by the fire, smoke can leave behind severe discoloration.
