Important Information :
Runner's Doom 3 version 2 does not work with RBDOOM-3-BFG( Moddb.com ) version 1.5.1 or lower.
If you want to run Runner's Doom 3 version 2 on RBDOOM-3-BFG, you need to raise your version of RBDOOM-3-BFG to 1.6 or higher.

Main Features :
Both BFG Edition and Original Edition (2004) are supported.
It also supports Resurrection of Evil and Lost Mission.
For BFG Edition, it is compatible with "Doom 3 BFG Hi Def"( Moddb.com ).
Simple and fast action :
You can move at more than twice the speed of vanilla. Switching weapons is almost instantaneous. There is no cumbersome reloading, of course.
You no longer have to wait idly for the enemy to spawn. The enemy completes spawning in an instant and quickly moves into combat.
Almost all the irritating obstacles found in some maps have been removed or changed. You can now focus on the things: defeating the enemy and advancing.
Random encounters at various locations :
This mod adds about 100-200 new spawn points to each Doom3 map. New enemies randomly placed at those spawn points will bring you the same terrifying experience as the first time you played Doom3. You can no longer predict what is behind the door.
Oh, you think the door you've been through is safe, don't you? Perhaps the enemy you defeated is back and waiting for you.
New enemy AI and new (but familiar) weapons :
Do you find it boring to play "catch-up" with Imps?
Imps on this mod will throw fireballs at you while simultaneously dodging, cornering you in the corner of the room and tearing you to pieces in a matter of seconds.
In this mod, the behavior of all enemies, including Imps, has been changed to be vicious. You will have to exercise your head and reflexes to counter them.
Of course, to fight vicious enemies, you need powerful weapons. At first glance, the weapons introduced in this mod may appear to be no different from previous weapons.
However, many of those weapons can fire powerful secondary shots.
You will be given a choice: fight as before or quickly eliminate the enemy in front of you, even if it means spending more ammunition.
Variety of enemies with "Roles"
Think you've had enough of Imps?
In this mod, most enemies (and Imps of course) are further divided into different types, each with its own "role".
They look exactly the same on the outside, but inside they are different. They will follow their "role" and each will try to hurt you in a completely different ways.
Tough Imps, Imps that repeatedly dodge, Imps that throw projectiles incessantly, and more.
You will come to make observations even on the appearance of a single Imp.
High customizability with CVar :
Too many or too few enemies? Want to make certain enemies stronger or weaker? Want to change or omit reload speed?
Almost all the elements added by this mod can be customized by CVar, and with a few simple entries in the autoexec.cfg file, you can modify this mod to your liking.
Gameplay that is more like Vanilla, gameplay that slaughters large numbers of enemies, gameplay that takes on unwinnable battles... you are at your mercy.
Many other features will be added with this mod. If you want to know all of them, please refer to "RN_CVars.txt".
Until now, Runner's Doom 3 version 2 was not supposed to run on third-party engines.
However, it has been confirmed that this mod works with RBDoom3BFG version 1.6 or later( Github.com ), and I have also found a way to make it work on the Dhewm 3 engine.
This version is an update to commemorate them. :D

Added "Totally Random Encounters" feature. It is OFF by default.
While the existing "Random Encounters" feature only enemy monsters that are already on the map, "Totally Random Encounters" may feature all major enemy monsters.

By the way, "Totally Random Encounters" is a dangerous feature in many ways.
First, this feature is likely to detract from the uniqueness and interest of the map.
Also, although the default setting is to have more and more powerful enemies as the map progresses, it is still possible that a swarm of Archviles and Hellknights will appear around MarsCity or AlphaLabs, making it impossible to progress.
I strongly recommend that you ask yourself if you really need this feature after trying it a few times. You may also want to set other CVars to adjust the difficulty level.
It seems that the Doom 3 engine is not designed for game content that loads models that are not placed in the map. In particular, this specification was made even more stringent in the BFG Edition.
That is, the official BFG Edition .exe cannot use the "Totally Random Encounters" feature. The mod will automatically turn off the feature when it detects activity on the official BFG Edition .exe.
If you want to use "Totally Random Encounters" in BFG Edition, I recommend you to use RBDoom3BFG version 1.6 or later. Other engines may have a bug that makes enemies invisible.

...Oh, by the way, RBDoom3BFG1.6 has not yet been released as of this writing.
BFG Edition users will have to compile the 1.6 beta version themselves. Since this is a good opportunity, it would be good to be able to process the source files on Github. You'll get a lot of applications out of it.
Or you can pull the 2004 version out of the back drawer, or get a new video card for RBDoom3BFG1.6 and look forward to that day. xp

Other changes :
(2004 version only) Fixed machine gun firing sound not being heard properly.
Reduced the default number of projectiles for Chaingun's primary shot from 3 to 1.
Increased the damage of Chaingun's primary shot from 15 to 40.
Reduced Bruiser's number of projectiles from 9 to 4.
Added a description of how to run this mod on Dhewm 3 engine in "RN_HowToInstall.txt".

Looks like I have found a way to run Runner's Doom3 version2 on the Dhewm3 engine.
There may be some licensing issues though...

Interesting mod! Is it possible to port at least random encounters to dhewm3?
Version 1.x runs on Dhewm3, so if that is what you want, please use that.
The version 2 DLL is the official RoE one, so maybe you can start it by adding the option +set fs_game_base d3xp.
If you ONLY want the "Random Encounters" feature...yeah, there's a VOTE above.

Yes, "Fun" is the theme of this mod. Doom 3 is a "Fun" game! I'm so glad you felt the theme of this mod. XD
BTW, I have no knowledge of Doom 3 coop, so I can't say if it is workable or not. My guess is that it will probably work, but with a lot of modifications to the firing system to achieve Secondary shot, so there will be a terrible lag...? maybe.
If you get a chance to test it, please let me know the results. Maybe I can find something that can be improved.
