GameSpy and Square Enix are bringing you new information each week on a different villain character from the upcoming PSP-exclusive fighting game Dissidia Final Fantasy. Check out our exclusive video below, as well as the corresponding weekly hero video and profile at IGN.

Dissidia Final Fantasy

Cosmos and Chaos, the gods of harmony and discord, respectively, are waging an all-out war through characters from all of the Final Fantasy games. Very few heroes are left, and the battles in Dissidia will decide who ultimately wins the cosmic war. But if you don't care about all that story babble, you can at least be excited that it's a fighting game developed by Square, right? Last week GameSpy and IGN presented villains and heroes from Final Fantasy VII; this time around we present a villain from Final Fantasy VIII.

Ultimecia

Ultimecia was one of those villains that snuck up on the plot late-game. Throughout Final Fantasy VIII, this evil future-sorceress used other, lesser baddies to do her bidding, before eventually jumping to the forefront to announce her evil scheme to compress all of time into one single reality. Or rather, "kompress" time, since she had a bad habit of replacing all her c's with k's. Her Dissidia incarnation seems to have eliminated the annoying speech impediment, though Ultimecia's still certainly a master of time and space. She somehow doesn't seem quite as intimidating without her giant magical pet Griever, but I'd think twice about messing with anyone who can compress time on a whim.
