These aircraft are some of the sixty Superforts which flew in to three Lincolnshire Airfields today on what is described as a 'Normal long-range Traing Flight'. The first of the American giants - four engined super-Fortresses - to be stationed for the next five weeks in Britain on 'temporary duty', landed at Scampton Airfield near here. Although the man-in-the-street has linked their arrival with the German crisis, official description of the visit said the movement was part of the normal long-range flight training programme'.
